  1. Still wanting to attempt a sprint tri, but Sundays are a no for me, does anyone know of any being held on a Saturday? I cant find any, Gauteng area
  2. Pretty sure Koenigsegg makes their own wheels, saw a video of it a couple years back and Christian went through some of the processes involved
  3. I got one of these, nothing wrong with it https://www.adendorff.co.za/product/mac-afric-3-8-drive-torque-wrench-6-30nm/ They also have Gedore if you really want https://www.adendorff.co.za/product/gedore-4549-torque-wrench-torcofix-k-2-25-nm/
  4. Awesome, thanks man, look forward to hearing what you think of it
  5. Not today, was on Tuesday, at Garden Route Trail Park, all I want to do is go back ????????
  6. They are a little, but it's what we could get, I have put shorter stems, zero offset seat posts and moved the seats as far forward as they can go, I know its not ideal, but alas, that is what we have
  7. Took my nephews out to Modderfontein yesterday for their first ride on their "new" bikes, was cold and rainy, but they loved it....
  8. I have no idea who that is ????
  9. Reviving an old thread rather than starting a new one. I am looking at upgrading the fork on my bike, and the Auron and Durolux have me quite intrigued, been looking on the net for info and all that I have seen of the newer generation forks is really positive, anybody here have any input/experience with these forks?
  10. Trails are starting to look a little better, Chris has been working hard and has put up 4 berms, went there this morning and really enjoyed it. I found the "black" route, ruins of mordor, man, that section is SAHWEET, but the marking is terrible, I kept second guessing myself because you have arrow pointing you on the right direction and then 500m later one saying you go the other way, and then 500m later you going the right way again and then reversed etv etc, I think the route would be better going the opposite direction to what I rode today but it is awesome either way. On a side note, Chris is always looking for riders to give suggestions on where things can be made better etc, a really nice guy, gave my bike a free wash after I was done this morning because I had no cash on me, but maybe if we can we can help him out with a donation of sorts once in a while...?
  11. Really? I thought the rain and mud made it that much more fun, also kept me from overheating, but I like riding in rain and mud so.....
  12. That was pretty fun, glad I did it, didnt do as badly as I thought I would either which was a bonus
  13. My "new to me" steed, cant wait to get it out on a decent ride ????????
  14. Recieved an email with my start time for the MTB race
  15. Thanks, but I am going to go for the 60, cant get better if you dont try...
  16. Nope, first race, done a couple 45km rides, but not over that yet
  17. A little nervous for this one, entered the 60km MTB race, first time doing a race, think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this one
  18. Hurt my leg, physio said I should I should skip this one
  19. Not going to be able to make it anymore, very bummed
  20. I have the same problem wanting a new bicycle
  21. That is a very blanket based statement, I can tell you now that on a hotish day I can/will/do go through every drop of my 2l backpack on a 25km ride.
  22. I haven't had to buy a pack in ages, but from my limited experience, go for a smaller bag, something with a 2l bladder should be enough, and without to much space to pack other things, just enough space to pack the necessary items, otherwise you land up with a really heavy uncomfortable weight on your shoulders and back
  23. Thanks for the advice, you have me a little concerned about the wind at the moment though, it has been pretty hectic around here the past few days. The other thing I am worried about is the wetsuit, I am kind of assuming its going to be compulsory looking at the weather forecast, can you tell me if it has to be a full wetsuit? Or will a shorty be suffice?
  24. No no no, I am in JHB, entering the trinitysports event at Germiston Lake. I couldn't careless if people think I am "wasting my time" entering, I do it for me, no one else. I once entered a bike race (motorcycle) at Zwartkops, had the slowest bike, came last essentially, but had more fun than anyone else there, and the guys that I did actually race against all came looking for me after the races and congratulated me, just for never giving up, I stood no chance, but I tried, thats what counts at the end of the day
  25. I can see its is quite adictive, I have entered the sprint distance race for this coming Sunday, so will see how it goes. As for the running/walking alternatively, thats what I tried doing, I dont have a watch to track it, but I try to count steps, that helped a bit. When I did my "test day" with a 24km cycle and 5km run I did it in 2h10m, I know thats horribly slow, but for a very first attempt at ever trying anything like that, I thought it was fairly respectable, it was also MTB trail and an offroad trail walk area, which I would think (hope) would make it more difficult/slower than what I will do come Sunday, lets see how it goes....
