  1. I ride with MX gloves in winter, but they are to thick in the summer, at least to me, they make your hands really hot, but they are awesome if you fall, and are really durable, my 2 pairs of "cycling" gloves have not even lasted 6 months and they are falling apart were my MX gloves are probably 4 years old and still going strong

    Pyga Hyrax

He rode Thaba on his dualie
  3. Happy to see there is still lots of wildlife at Modderfontien, cant really see them in the picture, but there were lots of Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala or Springbok and some other buck I couldn't identify
  4. Well then dont switch the Ebike on when riding with that group, the extra weight and resistance will even out the discrepancy and give you a better workout as well, two birds, one stone and all that
  5. So worth an "upgrade" then?
  6. You have to scroll to the bottom of the page and select the desktop version of the site
  7. Just want to hijack the thread quick... I have WTB I29 ST wheels on Shimano MT400 and MT510 hubs, would that Stans+ Hope be worthwhile? Or would I just be spending money needlessly?
  8. Try Decathlon, they have MTB Baggies at a reasonable price, also, I think FOX has some shorts on sale at the moment, may be worth looking at. I tried board shorts for a while, but they were to slippery. For shirts, I get Mr Price Drisomethingorother shirts, cheap, light, and dry quickly. When it is cold I use my old MX jerseys, gloves and knee brace socks, I look like a proper ****, but it is warm and comfortable
  9. There is a nice fork in the classifieds for sale, messaged the seller about 2 weeks back, no reply, saw the same fork on facebook, sent a message, no reply, add is still up on BikeHub, but scrolling through FB and happened upon a chat asking if the new owner is enjoying the fork? Still advertised as available on both the hub and FB ????????????
  10. Always nice to ride with new people, I am in Germiston/Edenvale area, so not far at all
  11. All my roadie rides have been solo, when on the MTB on the trails I am most often with someone. My best road ride to date, was a 56km ride, 618m elevation at 23.7km/h, pretty proud of that ride. And I was just being facetious when I said I should quit, I know it takes a lot of work to build up fitness, I love riding, dont see myself giving it up for the foreseeable future....
  12. My goal at the moment is just to get to 25km/h average on my roadie ????????????
  13. If that is a "slow" group, I think I should just give up cycling...
  14. My wife is my helping me with my sock game...
  15. You must give Wolwespruit a go, none of the climbs are as difficult as Thaba, but it makes you work, the descents and flow line are just amazing, the route marking isnt the greatest, but if you can put 2 or 3 brain cells to work you should be able to figure it out. I have been there a few times in the last 3 weeks and every ride just gets better the more I explore the routes.
  16. Modderfontien/Tarako, a friend of mine rode his Gravel bike there on Friday, think he did most of the Yellow loop
  17. Very jealous
  18. I used to do that, now it is basically first come first served, too many people mess a person around and then you lose a sale, I just tell the people honestly that there are other prospective buyers, and whoever comes first gets the stuff
  19. We went there for a walk on Saturday morning, got there just after 6am, we looked to be the first people there, at least we were the only people at the Fish Eagle dam, by 06:30 the place was getting a lot fuller, when we got back to the car at about 09:15ish, the place was PACKED, and now since they are allowing picnicking and fishing, the area was full of people, we took a quick drive to cycling parking area to go to the market for some chow, and it was reasonably quiet there, most of the people were out on the trails
  20. A cheapie to get some extra mileage and save the MTB for trails, and took the "advice" of many a hubber and got a red one, because its faster.....
  21. These sound like the perfect places for me ???????????? please add me Zero79 four92 4four68
  22. My Norco Fluid, LOVING this bike, went down in travel a bit from my last bike, but this bike is better in every way, I get more and more excited each time I ride it...
  23. For Silver Steel you could try Broadway Heat Treatment in Benoni, I am sure if you asked nicely they would cut pieces to the correct length you want, and they can harden it as well..
  24. Tore one grip ???? but I didn't like them and already had new ones on the way ????
  25. Got brave and stupid, things got sketchy and I lost my dignity and my ego at Cradlemoon on Saturday ???????????? been a LONG time since I've taken a tumble like this....
