  1. Dont be silly; roads, cycle-lanes and side-walks were built for cars, everyone knows that
  2. I was training for the DC, putting in around 12 hours a week when I got my wife pregnant for the first time, with a particularly disappointing level of trying, like first or second crack at it. Same story second time around, except I was training for the Argus. I have it on pretty good authority however that excessive exercise can adversely affect female fertility, to the point of bringing on early menopause.
  3. This is the way it looks to me: Lance did not want the matter to be heard in open court, why? because he did not want his image tarnished further, and testimony from the likes of Landis, Hamilton and most of all Hincapie would have been devastating. The way that he could walk away saving the most face is to throw in the towel, deny the charges and plead innocence for the rest of his life, even if stripped of his titles he will still be able to maintain his innocence. I hate to say this (I really do) but I cant see this in any other way but the actions of a guilty man. A little bit of my love for Cycling, and the Tour died today. Lance will always remain a legend for what he has done for Cancer
  4. Rocky mountain have some nice bikes in that range
  5. Try Terry at Xterra suits, they have a decent website as well, just google it. If you are in CT trevor will fit you out as well. My advise, you got to swim in a suit before you buy. There is no "best" suit most NB is fit, its got to be good, no bunching, not too tight so be careful. The gain from a suit is massive, extra buoyancy, safety and speed. You want to do tri, you need a suit.
  6. My gut feel would be to leave the fork as is, it doesn't look too bad at all, there is a lot to be said for keeping a bit of character. I was also considering a respray and chrome job on my single speed but am glad that I kept the original paint and Reynolds stickers. A new paint job would have left the bike looking like a new knock off anyway and like a like the more vintage look.
  7. My old man had a similar incident, but with a older guy. Bought the dude a helmet, some lights and repaired his bike, the saga just never ended from there, there were doctors bills, more bike repairs, claims for lost earnings all sorts of nonsense. Be very careful about how you handle this.
  8. They make some small cuts or nicks in the ITB, basically it weakens and "stretches" the ITB. It is preventable if you stretch and get physio
  9. Good tip to clean the tube once it has gone rotten. Use an old brake or gear cable , push the end with the barrel on through the tube, wrap some kitchen towel around it and pull back through the tube, repeat
  10. If only there was someone like Enticement to tell me to make sure that my bike was fitted with a Gruber Assist
  11. What was the deal with Robert Forstemann starting the Xcountry and then pulling out?
  12. Well done to Burry, 5th place is an awesome result, Super tough course and to hang in there and be in contention pretty much until the end was amazing, shows that he is absolute world class. I think the next few years are going to be very good for our china.
  13. The course looked suited to 29'ers, with those rocky sections, rock gardens and hard pack, there weren't too many twisty sections, another course could have seen 26'ers dominate.
  14. Come to think of it my wife seems to get headaches about 12 hours after eating Futurelife
  15. Skizo looks like he is getting hammered in the bmx seeding, second last at the moment
  16. Stuffs a winner, especially with my little daughter who is allergic to wheat, peanuts and some other stuff that only my wife remembers.
  17. Thanks and its not even my birthday, when will you deliver
  18. Why are you so suspicious? Its so easy to forget that you already deposited one cheque and then to write another and deposit it as well. Seriously though, I tried to report someone for doing this to SAPS and my bank, I was told that there was no real way of tracking the perp down, tell the dude that you have reported him for depositing fraudulent cheques and forget the incident.
  19. Pity that the run is so short, it would have been nice to do a 20 - 25 km trail run on the sat and then the mtb on the sunday
  20. Caster and Skizo in qualifying today, hope they clean up. Haven't seen Caster in action for a while now, hope she is strong.
  21. exactly, just a little. Now the "facts" on the hub, that's gospel!
  22. Dangle has it in one, as they haven't nailed him yet, the chances are slim to none that they will get him. Dangle, the stuff in the print media is little better than internet content.
  23. Sorry for your loss what a pain in the bottom bracket, try gumtree for 2nd hand trailers. Hijack, who did you get the wood from, I am looking for a supplier, Southern Suburbs.
  24. If you don't have the legs to help in the front it is almost certain that you are going to be nowhere in the sprint anyway. Just do whatever you want, hang on for the whole ride or if you want to have a dip at the sprint go for it. I don't care if you didn't put any work in, if the pace setters want to shell the hangers on its up to them to do it.
