  1. Pay off my bond
  2. Contact the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and tell them you want to be removed from their database, I did this and my junk mail and phone calles were significantly reduced, I still get the odd one. I put them on a hands free while I work and ask irrelevant questions of them and see how long they persist.
  3. pay your taxes
  4. I think that presta valves are used because they are thinner and require a smaller hole in the rim, which is therefore stronger. Probably not so important on wider MTB rims but as a rim gets narrower a schrader valve hole probably compromises the structural integrity of the rim
  5. I went from shimano shoes and other non BG shoes to the Spez. The shoes will alter the alignment of your ankle and knee and could cause you some problems. I personaly love the BG stuff and will never buy another brand, they just work realy well for me.
  6. Depends on the club. But also makes sense if there is a sweep vehicle, or if someone falls or needs help then at least someone on a club ride can be identified. If you dont want to ride in a club's kit, dont join the club or dont do the organised club ride.
  7. No way, its bad enough becoming a SV at 30. To go fully Vet at 35 makes you feel that you need to put your name down at the retirement village!
  8. The stem bolts always seem to rust way more than other bolts on a bike, get some titanium bolts for the stem.
  9. I sympathise with Tyger Cycles, I run my own business so I know what it is like to have delayed or non payment for whatever reason. But I also know that there are many other ways to resolve the issue without resorting to public attacks. A public attack on an internet forum, that, is not going to do you any favours.
  10. You gotta love those front brakes
  11. Depends what you want to get out of your club. Club 100 seems to have a better racing setup or are more geared towards events and competitive cycling while Cyclelab seems to be more of a social club. location is also important, it is nice to be close to the club so you can cycle to group rides and meet other members in your area.
  12. I have heard from a shock mechanic that the lefty is a real bugger to work on and needs more regular servicing than other conventional forks, so it is more expensive in the long run, that being said, when well maintained and properly set up it is meant to be pretty great. Once again the age old cycling adage applies, light, strong, cheep, pick any two.
  13. Does the 'Dale have a non standard size headset?
  14. Bulls have a far better chance of winning than Baffana making it through the Confed Cup warm up against Namibia, let alone the first round of the Cup
  15. Perhaps he had a problem with your following vehicle, was it holding up traffic?
  16. Damn I thought that someone had finaly invented an automatic gearbox for a bike.
  17. Depends on the distance and time that you are racing, if you are doing under 2 hours, carbo loading probably wont help you, 2 - 4 hours you can probably get by on gu, bars and energy drink, over 4 hours and I think you should carbo load.
  18. I ride both my MTB and Road bikes with quick links, have done so for many many years and man do I put out some serious Power, they are plenty strong enough Correct it is the two halves that slot together
  19. I see your point, when I do multi day events I make sure that I have someone to clean my bike, when I do my normal riding I use the Clamshell cleaner, which is OK. But I will give your method a shot now that it is winter. Fortunatly I put a new chain and cluster on about 150 km ago so it should be fine to start swinging.
  20. I dont see the advantage in rotating your chain, why not use one chain until it is time to replace and then get a new one. Foe Fighter2009-05-22 02:47:29
  21. I went for BBB, were about 100 bucks, not bad value and seem to do the job
  22. The big question is, Wet or Dry lube?
  23. swell wasn't so hot yesterday' date=' and this particular nor'wester saturday will blow those Roxy girls to rooiels.[/quote'] The surf is going to pick up big time on Saterday, forget Muizenberg you wimps, the surfs going to hit 20 to 30 ft on the outer reefs, hang the bike up and grab that rhino charger.
