Yeh but I've also heard that : "Fools never differ" Seriously though, I did notice a difference with the carbon stays on my road bike (or is it a Subconsciously subjective feeling only) but as I'm looking at a HT MTB I was worried about the same thing with the carbon stays. Thx guys

So what Rear Suspension design is the most efficient an effective in reducing "pedal bob" (no, not Bob the Builder) and what MTB (obviousely) uses these designs to the best effect in your opinion. (Oh, and before the "smarties" reply - A hardtail is not classed as a suspension design )

Nah - bike shops would NEVER do THAT !!!!!

If it has a carbon fork and STI's it is hardly "old school" Cois - probably circa around 1999-2000 or so hey ? IMHO no-one will really notice that you have 7spd. Now an old steel forked (the more "forked" the better ) frame with downtube shifters is another story completely !!!!

In a moment of weakness once used a ShimaNO DA chain instead of Record (1/2 price) and no problems
