  1. 1) Who stocks Orbea in CT ( and elsewhere if no-one)? 2) Any ideas/reviews on the Orbea Aqua Dama (Alu & carbon fork and stays - no, not forkin stays!! ), price and alternatives etc. 3) Any decent alternatives for woman specific or else frames that have XS as well (need 50 - 52max top tube length but ideally 51 TT)? I need to look at a reasonable bike build for my wife, now that mine is almost complete. She currently has an old Trek 1200 (year 2000) with 7 spd so want to upgrade due to the following reasons: 1) Get her excited about cycling again and 2) So I don't feel quite so guilty after building my new bike Ideally I want to put Campy Mirage, but will look at decent alternatives. racman2007-07-30 04:04:32
  2. Mampara - I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, although they don't have the "bling" name as others. I think their products are a bit underrated. But Hey - fro R800 I can live with it ! (now if only I can get a bargain price on a set of new and faster legs!!!) Besides - I also managed to get some ITM stickers from one of the TdF teams. (they also have Specialised sticker for sale !!!)
  3. All of the above comments are true except ... I could not refuse the offer of the slightly used bars for R600 - (normal price abot R1600) and the stem for R200 (normal price is approx R600)!
  4. I suppose it's pointless paying for carbon if you can't show it off.
  5. I have just bought a set of carbon wing bars and am going to build the new bike on Monday. The question is - Do you tape the whole bar (including the flat wing) or stop just past the ergo's/Sti's ? (I bought a used RavX Helix carbon bar if that helps)
  6. AuctionLamb - you forgot the 5 X Jalapeno Chillies in the recipe

    Sale

Is the Elegra Dura Ace SDI, Shimano's version of the SRam "Red" which is very rare and mainly used by elite TdF riders (most of who are no longer in the current tour as they were riding too "high" in the Alps)
  8. Try your LBS - they should be able to get 1" forks as they are available still. A "quill adaptor" is also available which will enable you to use current design stems. CycleLab told me that they can get a carbon fork with 1' steerer for about R900.racman2007-07-26 00:09:32
  9. MD where did you get one in CT?
  10. Hey Homer - gr8 bike !! ( I think you should change you "nick" to "Night Rider") Enjoy!!
  11. My heart was pumping when he went early and I saw Cancellara gaining ground - well done Robbie!!!
  12. maybe the answer is to buy a cheap computer for now and look at a Garmin later?
  13. what price did you pay for the forerunner. The price of the CS200 will be about R1200 I think so should be quite a difference.
  14. Anyone had any problems with the Cs200cad? My LBS said that they no longer stock as have too many problems - tried to sell me a 725 for a higher price of course!
  15. On leave this week so watched the whole stage - AWESOME!!!!
  16. Thanks guys - waiting for CWC shipment to arrive on 17th then will build and post pic on 'members Pictures (hopefully David Millar's TT bike will have finished Hijacking the thread by then as well). Have decided to go for Chorus, Easton Vista/Fulcrum 5's with EA70 stem, EA70 wing bars, EC70 post and Polar CS200. A bit more than budgetted but will be worth it and last for long time (or until I get the urge again, which could be sooner than it takes for the groupst to wear out )
  17. All the best with your relocation plans Oom H. We'll all keep our eyes and ears open for you.
  18. Orca - what do you mean by "mishandle". I weigh about 90kg - would that be too heavy for these wheels?
  19. I looked at Roadbikereview.com and it doesn't seem like anyone has any good things to say about them - mainly problems with the rear hub and constantly going out of "true" by the sounds of things. Anyone here have any issues?
  20. Still thinking about it. The only problem is that I would have to build up my BMC with DA instead of Chorus as found out now that the special is only with shimaNO hubs
  21. Anyone had any ggod or bad experience with these wheels. I can get a set new for R2700! At normal price of approx R5k they would not be on my shopping list but at this price ....
  22. HR - if you have set your preferences to automatically check when you insert a cd (obviously provided you are connected to the net) it should not be a problem. You can also ask iTunes to "Get CD Track names" (under advanced) once connected.
  23. Do I go Centaur with better wheels or Chorus with training wheels for now? (The BMC is almost new and is a great frame in my opinion so will probably build)
  24. Was thinking about Centaur with maybe Easton Circuit (or cheaper Fuclrum 5 for now) wheels, Easton EA70 Bars & Stem. What do you think?
