  1. I have just tried to phone van Gaalen, but they are closed. I will try tomorrow morning and post info when I have it.
  2. Not 100% sure but I think around 13h00
  3. It seems she was riding with a group and towards the end of the ride, about 1 Km from the end she fell behind as she was tired, and she just never arrived back at the farm. Two of her group, as well as the owner of the farm, went to look for her, and by the time we had left approx 14h00, she had not been found.
  4. Does anybody know if the lady that was lost at van gaalen cheese farm yesterday, was found?
  5. Read this message please Velo. If someone knows him please ask him to empty his inbox
  6. Please delete some messages in your inbox. I am trying to send you a P.M.

  8. I will weigh them for you, with tyres, tubes, cluster and anti puncture juice and let you know tomorrow.
  9. Anyone has more info on these wheelsets, i.e how heavy they are, durability, weight limit, reviews, personal experience, etc. Been to their website, no extra info there. I have a set which I used for about 1000 k's, a little heavy, but very nice wheels, I weighed about 87 kg's at the time and I believe that they can carry up to 100kg's. I used them as training wheels and and never had any problems with them. The wheels are actually for sale, including a Shimano 10 speed cluster (25/12) and Michelin tyres for only R1500.
  10. You guys are right, but I don't enjoy cycling on the road anymore because I cannot relax and enjoy riding my bike
  11. I am quitting cycling because of all the deaths on the roads, I love the sport but am not prepared to go out on the roads any more. I have logged over 60,000 km without incident, but am not prepared to put myself at risk of being killed or maimed.
  12. Went last year, great experience.
  13. I do5 Days a week on the IDT, min 1 hour up to 1h30. Intervals on 2 days a week and active recovery 3days. Working to a programme Scott Richardson worked out for me. And yes, the backside goes numb after about 45-50 mins.
  14. Andrew is the only one worth listening to. Perhaps they should try to get Johnny Koen presenting, he is also very good. Owen is worse than Tove Kane, always battling to find the right words.
  15. Where do I go to get these downloads
  16. Why was the whole show the Cape Epic, there was a highlights package shown after Supercycling? Cape Epic, Cape Epic Blah Blah Blah Sick and tired of the Cape Epic. Mountain Biking-who cares
  17. Is that the one driving a Golf that tried to run away and got caught by the cops? Yes, and sadly no harm came to him.
  18. From what I can gather, a car coming from the opposite direction to the cyclists and travelling at about 140 k/h, hit the pavement and lost control going head on into the cyclists. 1 rider apparently - no injuries. The other badly hurt- both ankles broken as well as various other broken bones - in hospital and critical. The driver of the car was locked up without bail and will appear in court today.
  19. This is the result of Saturdays crash in Boksburg. There are 2 complete bikes in this little box, minus wheels. It seems that not a single component can be re used on either bike.
  20. In this instance the cyclist was in the wrong. Not the taxi drivers fault, so "sorting him out" would be the wrong thing to do. Too much emotion !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Nice "helmet"
  22. I have both, the Polar is great for interval training and analysis of workouts. The Garmin is nice for the mapping and riding against previous rides also good for intervals but software not great for analysis of info. For power work I think the Power Tap is the best, software is great and the unit is very simple to use. The new Polar CS600 will cost about R3500 plus the power unit at about R3000, definitely on my shoppiong list.
  23. Another cyclist was knocked down and killed on Sunday, on Swartkoppies road, also in the South.
  24. 720i is good, or if you really want to be fancy the new Garmin GPS hrm combo - not sure what its proper "designation" is GARMIN 301 or something like The new Garmin cycling specific units are the Edge 205 and 305. I recently bought the 305 complete with H/R and Cadence sensors and have not found the battery life to be a problem at all, easily lasting up to 4 hours on training rides.
