  1. new carbon fibre boot spoiler for lambo's. probably can get them from autostyle!!
  2. now you can address this matter to the relevant club, and by the looks of it "cyclelab" i joined them one for a ride, and the ride co-ordinator makes very clear before that groups leave cyclelab, that ride 2 side by side, follow the rules etc. and they also have marshalls with the group. this is going to be a never-ending story!!
  3. so i'm getting my morning dose of the news on NEWS24. Business Debt-ridden Tshwane is 'sinking' 2010-11-25 22:39 The Tshwane municipality is struggling with billions in debt and its billing system is collapsing, the DA says. then to the right of this article; South Africa Embattled official gets R2.3m pay-off 2010-11-25 22:41 The Tshwane Metro's suspended municipal manager will be paid R2.3m in an "amicable" parting of ways, and all investigations against him will cease. i need to find a job in the municipality. its easier and far quicker to make a million.!! whats up with these guys!!! please pay your taxes, cos we need to amicably pay off some nitwit who has drained and propably stolen money from the municipality!!! and if you do not pay your taxes we are going to fine you and issue you with penalities so that we can pay off some other official who desperately needs a million!!!

  5. nothing wrong !!! i dont see any cars on the other lanes!!
  6. So, i am in the postion of upgrading my road bike. enjoyed my training for the 94.7, suffered at 94.7, but finished. so this feeling of just riding is so strong in me, that i figured may be i should upgrade my road frame. I am currently riding a GT ZR3.0 (still has the triple triangle design) and its got a Tiagra groupset. not intending to change that anytime soon, as it worked fine. but just to treat myself, i want to upgrade the frame. I need some advice before i buy a frame (second hand); Budget 3-4k aluminium or carbon geometry etc thanks in advance
  7. yebo, to all the finishers!! the guys that spent their sunday (waterpoints / massage / marshalls / spectators etc) to encourage us, whilst sitting in the heat! the Choc guys kept screaming "dont give up, you'll make it" when i was walking on the uphills i'll back next year.

there were a lot after the 40km mark!!!
  9. so, SBR is the training place. now, are we going to have the same problem as we do at the cradle????
  10. thanks
  11. my 2c, it has been my first 94.7 and my training for next year is going to be a lot different. most of my training was at the cradle, which does not replicate the route and intensity of the race route, hence after around 60-70km it seemed like i was pedalling in reverse!! i created a misconception of my ability to ride hard and be part of a hard race.should have kept more in the engine for the N14. only solution to this is to train harder, so where is this place suikerbosrand???
  12. you owe no-one an apology. everyone has a different personality and responds differently to each situation. you just needed a bit of assurance that what you wear, and how you cycle, is within an acceptable understanding. but frankly, enjoyment is what you must be after. the hub has all types of people here, enjoy this ride, cos i do. you get slandered, you slander, you joke, and others joke about you. only thing dont wear white cycling shorts when you are out MTB'ing!!!!
  13. i understand 105 is more durable . hard to say though, maybe the weight thing is your fancy, then go with the one which is lighter.
  14. nice , how did you get it under 10kg???
  15. i envy you
  16. kzn has a xc series and its awesome!!!! i have enjoyed the marathon styled races where you could enjoy the ride at your own pace until i entered a xc event at giba gorge, it was extremely exciting. supporters thoughout the course. adrenalin pumping, family cheering you on. although some might find xc racing a bit scary cos of the technical nature ot the riding, remember that on the world xc series, those riders also get off the bike and run through some technical sections. now based in jhb, so count me in for a xc series!!
  17. i caught a glimpse on one of the sunday papers about Racism and idols and there was a pic of Mara and Randall. so i thought somebody has caught up with Mara's pathetic remarks to the greater white contestants, and was shocked to here that she is the one complaining that the show is racist!!! News 24 extract Mara: Idols is racist Gavin Prins, Rapport Johannesburg – A race row has erupted around the TV reality show Idols after one of the judges, Mara Louw, lashed out to reporters about the new Idol, Elvis Blue. She said Idols was full of racism and if M-Net did not soon sell the competition to the SABC, South Africans would never have a black winner. Louw said: "L'loyd should have won. Finish and klaar!" "Black people don't have access to DStv," said Louw. "So a large part of South Africa is excluded. White people vote for white people and black people get the short end of the stick." It is the first time that an Idols judge comes out to slam a winning Idol. Her comments may affect her role in the popular series in future. Although the numbers showed that Elvis got almost twice as many votes as L'loyd, Louw said: "South Africans are still racist." Third judge Randall Abrahams said he disagreed. "To say that white people vote white and black people vote black, you have to know every person who is voting and know who he is voting for. And this is impossible." "M-Net gained many black viewers. How do you know that black people didn't vote for Elvis? People stopped voting long ago for only singing talent, they vote for the whole package. And in any case, it is the white people who buy the albums," said Abrahams. M-Net spokesperson Lani Lombard said people voted for talent and not race. She said the top four were a clear indication of this. She said Idols was also not limited to DStv and that the Idols were introduced to people on radio stations, in local newspapers and even public performances.

  25. where do we go from here!!! 2010-10-24 14:31 Johannesburg - The ANC filed an application for leave to appeal against the ban on the controversial song Dubul' iBhunu (shoot the Boer), the Sunday Independent reported. The ANC said it formed part of the history of its liberation struggle and was still sung by its supporters, the newspaper reported. This application was made on behalf of the ANC by deputy secretary general, Thandi Modise, before the South Gauteng High Court. "I respectfully submit that judicial notice can be taken of the fact that the song in question is known and sung by literally tens of thousands of South Africans. The consequences of a violation of this order are self-evidently prejudicial," Modise said. She said the song formed part of the "history of the ANC's struggle for liberation," the newspaper reported. "It is a notorious fact that the song in question has been sung by members and supporters of the ANC in diverse occasions." The application follows a ruling by acting South Gauteng High Court Judge Leon Halgryn, who in March said the singing and publication of the song was "unconstitutional and unlawful" because it satisfied the crime of incitement. The matter would appear before the court on November 29. - SAPA
