Speaking of Joberg2C any other teams looking for a Physio? We taking ours with (yes, she's hot and beers are included).

    2012 Ironman

Not only crazy enough to do IMSA, but to follow it up with Joberg2C, 5 days later, followed by Comrades and 70.3 World Champs in Vegas.
  3. 1. Stay away from the bouys 2. Find some feet to follow (look for bubbles) and stick to them 3. Concentrate on a long easy stroke Ignore all my advice, I'm a *** swimmer too!
  4. I also need something, but only R 300.00

    I'm really going to have to learn how to swim!!! Swim: 38'48" Bike: 2h41'35" Run: 1h41'31" T1: 3'54" T2: 2'36" Total: 5h08'24"

No, perfect conditions. A small headwind on the way back, but nothing to write home about. Did everyone enjoy the race?

That is exactly my plan. Go too hard on the bike and find out when I crash and burn on the run. So if you see someone crying on the side of the road on the 2nd run lap, it's probably me.

It's hard to make it back in 1h05. If the wind is behind you up the hill try for close to even splits. If it is a headwind out, then like a 1h38 / 1h12. Remember, it's ALL about the run. Every 1 minute too hard on the bike, costs you 3 on the run.

I know you can wear a wetsuit up to 28.8 deg C, but I'm asking, what are the chances of the water being over 24.5 deg C, where wetsuits are only allowed if you are not competing for awards or slots?

Do you live in EL? What is the current sea temp?

Anyone want to put money on a non-wetsuit swim?

Nope, first PRO's then 18 - 39, then 40+ Men, then Ladies, then Teams Be prepared for a cup of HTFU. Those mens starts have more than 1000 in each group.

It will feel like Jacob Zuma's nephew is sitting on you whilst getting punched by Gerrie Coetzee in his heyday.
  14. You can buy mine for R 2000-00
  15. Check on the Zipp Website. I just ordered an 808 and 404 front. Firecrests are quite a bit more ( and faster) than the normal Zipps.
  16. R 15 500 isn't for the Firecrest Wheels! Firecrests will be around R 19k
  17. I've seen lots of people swimming in Emmarentia Dam, but I ran past there yesterday and this morning again, and there are LOTS of nasties, floating against the wall. I live in Milpark, but my training is erratic at best (5am / 8pm). I've got a 2 hour run on Sunday morning (around 23 -24km) if you are interested.
  18. Firstly, I need to point out I am not a good swimmer. But, I know I need to be able to swim 1.9km / 38km with and without a wetsuit, so I practice. My suggestion to all those that want to change the rules, is to HTFU and practice. Sport is not supposed to be easy, the next thing is those that can't run will want to use roller blades for the run. Use it, don't use it.

I heard some AG's were caught and banned at 11Global - Cape Town earlier this year.
  20. Leaving for Thailand, this afternoon. 70.3 Asia Pacific Champs at Laguna Phuket on Sunday
  21. I had the great pleasure of dealing with Fred Coleske from Geco Cycles the last week. I need to say that if I lived in Cape Town I would support him 100%. Thanks for all the help Fred, it means a lot seen as you didn't make a cent.
  22. Great race, pity there are no results. Also interesting there were no lifeguards, or very few. Plenty of hydration and sponges to cool yourself. How about that big cycle group?
  23. From Twitter: There was a triathlete knocked down this am. Rides a Felt and all they know is his name is Abrie, he is at Fourways life and they need to operate on him. No details on him.
