  3. I thought it will work if I offered to buy her cycling stuff too ... now in stead of dividing by 4, I have to multiply by 2! She "bought" into the biking thing big time

I was too tired to lie down, so I just joined the pushbike clan ... man if you thought it's tough on a bike, get off your flippin high horse ... it's only us real brave ones that can hike part of the track as well!
  10. There goes all my concerns. Other people have bigger problems than me
  11. Kudos to: 1. MaxUmis for this cool thread. 2. The 20,000+ crazy people doing this challenge for fun and the benefit of others! 3. The watering hole volunteers that had to report at 4am to man the stands till 4pm! 4. The slick registration process. 5. The 100's shouting encouragement from the side. 6. The gentleman that saved us both when my chain came off and I veered into his line. 7. The stranger that gave my partner cramp-eze when she cramped up. 8. The guys dressed in ordinary shorts riding some friend's ill fitting steel rig wearing takkies! You rock big time! 9. The 1,000's making the journey from PE /EL / CT / CY and even Dubai / Ireland etc. We salute you. 10. The sponsors and City of JHB for their support of this awesome event.
  12. Is oxygen not the ultimate "sober up" thingy or is just an old movie legend? Bring 2 cans and let's see who can spend most time at the bottom of the pool!
  13. Anybody know where I can buy a knitted helmet too?
  14. THANK YOU!!
  15. Our family of 4 are all beginners. We ALL received SMS's and e-mails to enter Van Gaalens. Too much trouble to mention "Not for beginners"
  16. "Bring your family along and make them all experience the excitement of mountain biking!" This would be appropriate for Babbas/Northern Farm/Groenkloof where us "family-types" hang out. Unfortunately it was used for Cullinan Diamond Rush. So me and others ended up in hospital. This thread is meant for the family-social-weekender-appie cyclist community NOT for the experienced, dedicated, skillful, cyclists, so please consider our concerns. Our entry fees entitle us to act like idiots, clog the bottle necks and totally ruin your fun!

  18. Move Oom Paul to Kruger Park entrance. It receives more attention than the "pigeon hole" he is stuck in now. How many of our kids have been to pigeon parade?...and to Kruger? I pity Chris that he will become known as the most prominent urban SA guano collector. He deserves better.
  19. Ordered 3x this year. All good, simple and fast and easy.
  20. Here in Gauteng, the sleeper is often the driver, otherwise they are also known to translate their mommy's language into "vingertaal" so other motorists can be better informed.
  21. I am totally addicted to thehub..it beats the best soapie/reality show/google ..all rolled into one! Incredible knowledge, friendship, animosity, wisdom, stupidity, support, demolition. I have seen and learnt more about cycling on my couch at night than many hours in the saddle! Publish on you gifted ones!
