Apart fom the clothing.. of about 30 cyclists on the road this morning, we were the only ones with red seatpost lights.
  2. Please help me as a newbie (18 months)to understand why: * The average car guard (notice their neon-yellow reflective bibs?) is more visible than the average road using cyclist? * The majority of cyclists seen on the road wear tarmac camouflage ... Black/Charcoal/Dark Blue/Dark Red/Dark green garb? * Green and red are worn when 7 out of every 100 male drivers can not distinguish it from colours like brown? Is it because motorists only run down the cyclists they can actually see?
  3. Rather listen to your Ipod whilst riding on the left of the track than discuss stuff with the oke on your right shoulder and cause innocent veterans to crash
  4. Chris I do not know which is better, only know the DT from my Scott and prefer the Fox by far. I sometimes think individual riding style is a big factor not always discussed. Big difference between "Hou vas my bier en check hierdie move" and pushing a bike down hill?
  5. Probably the Giant Anthem X, because it has the Fox23 shock you know is good?
  6. I was told if you wear round your neck, you can actually sleep for a very, very long time.
  7. oh yes and BB is Bottom Bracket....somewhere close to your Blackberry?
  8. They are all waiting for you to ask what LBS is. Took me months to figure out...Local Bike Shop
  9. After the Tikkoppie smashed my car window to steal the GPS this afternoon I am waiting at Glasfit and then heading back, sorry. So the crime in Cape Town got me after all haha!
  10. Entered from Rugby rd Oranjezicht this morning. Our first ride on the mountain ever. This mountain is one angry mother. Our "Gauteng" legs were burning big time. Awesome view. Lots of hikers. 2 other bikers. Amazing experience.

  12. Yep...Advice I got off a previous discussion elsewhere on thehub. I like the various zip pockets too. Always have some last minute stuff..like keys/remote/GU
  13. The new First Ascent baggies are a bit like bibs inside baggies. So no leg chafing, bulging etc.
  14. Sorry to hear this. "On average" people tend to be rather helpful.
  15. Have similar issues and the most + mentions I could find for 29ers on this site is Continental Mountain King 2.4 front and Continental Race King 2.2 on the back for a tubeless 29er option. Dunno 26er.
  16. 3 CO2 bombs, then an explosion of note at 2,5 bar painting the garage with Stans sending the rim in one direction and the tyre in another. I successfully converted back to video games and the Stans in my ears is helping to keep me there
  17. Yesterday when the newbie next to me's foot slipped off his pedal and he disappeared head first into the roadside tall grass I realised going "clipless" by adding clips to my bike was a very good idea!
  18. Muslim oke is the one with the beard that sold you the new bike lots cheaper than anyone else could
  19. Have the same in both hands since 94.7 Physio said that it can be any one or combination of the following: 1. Nerve irritation at C5 (Neck/Back) due to bike setup/ same position for too long etc. 2. Carpal tunnel at the wrist from too long in same position, but rather too upright angle of wrista because of gears/brakes etc 3. Too much pressure on the pinky/ring finger nerves from lack of frequent movement, dipped saddle, thin/hard bar covers, gloves. Some sleep with their necks/backs/hands/arms/elbows in awkward (pressured)positions which hinders the healing process.
  20. Being back on the bike after a R30,000 AC3 dislocation repair operation thanks to believing the website "ideal opportunity to introduce your family to mountain biking" fall at Cullinan Diamond rush.
  21. The Momentum 94.7 and Argus will be etched on my bum forever! Thought I finally cracked the saddle issue, but between my hands going numb and bum burning up....eish!
  22. +1 Links to recent biker comments about the routes Maybe some Money to be made with an escrow setup (happy seller / happy buyer)on the for sale setup (Bid or buy for bikers) Some of us have made 10+ deals here, but have to jump through the distrust hoops every time
  23. More details please...different rims/hubs/tyres?..which makes? prices?
  24. This Groenies?
