  2. Damn, doesnt sound good, flippit I could offer to go to Unitas or to the scene, maybe see something, but dunno if it would help. Anyways, really hope your friend is ok. Its sad nonetheless that another cyclist died. PM me if I could help with anything
  3. hmmmm maybe he asked JuJu for help on how to "manage" a draw
  4. explaining to the wife how I got that pic of her sister might prove to be a daunting task
  5. I dont have a sister, but can I trade my sister-in-law for the jacket?
  6. Yesterday I ordered my Beurer PM40 HRM from Racing Spartan (Abbas) at 11:00 And I'm already playing around and setting it up (10:14) He answered all questions quickly and professionally. Hubbers, if you decide to do business with him, you wont be disappointed!!

  9. I think the fact that you wanna get back on the bike is AWESOME. Respect dude, I was off bike for two months only (something else), and nearly didnt make it. Happy riding!!
  10. Just another note from me....I looked around doing pricing on First Ascent shorts as well as bibs and was amazed to see that Cycle Lab's prices are among the cheapest? FIRST ASCENT DOMESTIQUE SHORTS R418 Endurance bibs 545 Evolution Bibs 727 This is about as far as I would go could this be true, want to go and see what Solomons has to offer. Where do you guys buy?
  11. I would also like to see what happens We found accomodation in Knysna for the 24th and will go to Hartenbos after the race (same day--- with ME driving ) anyway there were shuttles from Knysna to the start last year. Think thats a better option? Or let someone take you through to Uniondale the morning before the start and then go back to Knysna Something like that, Im still a K2C virgin, so not sure what arrangements others made. there are threads on this here on the Hub, need to check them again would like to finalise everything as soon as possible
  12. I wont buy fake merchandise, never have, never will. As Edman said, if I cant afford the original, I either save or let the idea go.
  13. I've been thinking about buying a pair just to try out. Currently I have two First Ascent cycling shorts and Indola Baggies, and their "padding" is starting to wear out a bit. Still good for short races and training sessions though
  14. Hope I dont get fried for being stupid, but why would one wear bibshorts? Im just thinking it could be uncomfortable? enlihgten me please
  15. Thanks! that Peanut Butter smoothie looks yummy
  16. Piet, my PC is acting up, cant get to this article.
  17. I started doing core exercises about two weeks ago. Already there is an improvement. Never realised how important these unseen muscles are. For the rest of this month I'll do the basic static core exercises (bridge, side plank etc etc) will upgrade to the rest next month. Looking forward to much improved performance on the bike, especially in longer races. Thanks for all the information on Allout MTB, u guys rock!
  18. just a silly Q perhaps, would all of u guys ride a clear frame with no decals at all? Think it would be kinda cool, no "branding" on any part of the frame and shock
  19. patches, nice work there man, cant wait to see the finished product, sure its gonna be awesome ....thinking I should change my current mtb to the nekkid brushed look
  20. Sorry to hijack, but I think its semi-related (well sort off) I can only train at night during the week from 8:15pm or there abouts. Problem is, when Im done and showered, I'M AWAKE and cant sleep, only went to bed close to midnight! need to sleep more, but the little one wakes up at 5am. Just would be so nice to get to bed early for a change. what to do??
  21. Awesome work Patches, glad to see some yellow gloves in the background as well send some more pics as you go on!
  22. I got myself an Anatomic Super Shell, seems quite similar in function to a Magneto. Nice and light, ventilation under the arms and at the back, and water "repellant". Should be ok with it I guess. I have a long sleeve undershirt etc. Any of you with same jacket and your opinion of it?
  23. Patches What paint stripper are you using? As in my first post, I used Durham Paint Stripper (approx R65-00 from Builders WH) If I had to do it from scratch, wouldve taken me about 12-13 hours I guess. I applied a fairly thick coat, waited for 10-15min, used a plastic scraper (divider thingy in toolbox), wiped off with damp cloth and then used fine steel wool. Even with the frame looking the way it did in the beginning, I had to apply 2-3 coats in most regions. Hehe, I found that working on the rear triangle was the most difficult. I like the way this thread turned out after my initial post, have learnt a lot and will definitely take on a similar project in future. Its very rewarding
  24. I was planning on initially restoring it completely. Would have done it of frame was my size. I've approached two panelbeaters in my area and both said it wouldnt be a problem, even easier if you send the frame in alongside a vehicle that needs a clear coat or so That I dont know, but it would be nice to find out. Think a clear coat is necessary to protect the frame against scratces etc. But thanks anyways, I dont think I did a bad job at all. Now to find that 19" frame for a single speed project
