  1. Yah maybe your're right hey, got it for next to nothing. maybe a good opportunity to get some mech skills and learn how to service etc. thanks for the reality check
  2. Here's mine....verryyy bad cellphone photo, actually bought this yesterday, just gonna let it stand in my garden somewhere Actually my first bike was that 3Speed Sturmy Archer Raleigh ATB (Bomber) dunno who's riding it now though
  3. My brother-in-law is a conmrades athelete and is now training quite hard, and he dilutes cranberry juice and water 50-50 and put in a quarter teaspoon salt, and he says its working like a charm. Will be using that in a few races this year.
  4. Wheels like that are about R5300 alone, so I reckon you made a R1000-00 plus saing here, lekker! Very nice wheels btw
  5. Nothing wrong with a cold Windhoek after a ride. I normally have a Coke first and then sip slowly on the beer.
  6. I just want to confirm that option 1's shorts and da white cycling pant are not to be family... hehe only joking

  13. So when are you getting the dual? should've had the deal done and dusted long time ago
  14. Hmmm, maybe some of their technical work is tops but the rest isnt the best I've seen. Had to take my mtb back after a service, as there still was a problem with the crank BB they should have replaced. Then the buggers had the nerve to try and charge me for labour....eish. My boss had the same problem last week Back to the the thread, I would rather deal with an unfriendly bunch of techies that do the work right the FIRST time. So I will give FP Irene a try next time around
  15. Redline, I have an IDT (Christmas prezzie) Getting a cheap back wheel this week. I used to put on a normal MTB slick every Sunday evening for the week's training. So that's not a bad option, just change the wheel whenever you wanna train. (or have to train ) I just have one question. In getting ready to train on the IDT, I turn the little knob of the magnetic flywheel until it touches the back wheel, and then give it another 3 and half turns, you guys think thats enough?
  16. Hey AB, great info. I started training on IDT a few weeks ago due to me and wife's schedules changing a bit. These one-legged drills are quite challenging. I start with 5 min spinning warm up and do 1 minute one-legged drills for 4 min only at this stage. (2 min each leg) and I must say, I can feel that on long rides over weekends my legs "last longer". So definitely worth doing it
  17. Mampara, dink jy is reg....so van die os op die jas, Caitlin is nogals 'n aantreklike dame.... But yeah, LOTCR will be done, either this year or 2012
  18. So you travelled all the way from Planet Zug to do the race last year? Looks like a great race to do...beslis en Mev Goewerment sal daarvan hou om saam te gaan...haar familie kom immers van daar iewers in die berge af?
  19. Anyone else watched the show last night? Lord of the Chain Rings looked like such an awesome race, that it has to be added to my race bucket list. What do you guys think?
  20. Guys, while I have sympathy for sirdancelot's problem, reading all the comments in Afrikaans is hillarious!!!! Ek is mal oor my taal. RickyB, jy kan lekker die taal praat hoor. Doen so voort!!
  21. Desperately looking for a new job (sorry for posting here) MBL degree Looking to specialise in HR and Marketing Thanks!!
  22. Hmmm....Thanks Burts, I think you get discount as well when buying a Polar if you're on Vitality? I will keep what you said into consideration as well.
  23. Thanks Chris, basically what I was thinking as well.....PLUS a low-key HRM would be easier to sneak past Missus Goverment..
  24. A year or so ago I was the victim of such a scam. Was selling a desktop PC and wanted to get rid of it quickly. Didnt even become suspicious (was taken for R4000-00), thats why I'm not an Agent When there are a few numbers involved, it's even more reason for suspicion. Anyways, if you follow all the advice on this thread thus far, you'll be ok.
  25. Ok, so I figured it was time to get me one of these. Dont want to pay too much as my level of MTB ability and fitness doesnt warrant an expensive model at the moment. Basically need one that gives different zones and heart rate, thats all. Need one that has a bike mount I Like the Polar CS300 (with bike mount) Obviously it doubles as a cycling computer too. Think that paying R1000 for a 2nd hand one isnt too bad Saw the Sigma PC15 on CWC but they are out of stock at the moment. Looks like quite a decent watch as well and well priced at under R500-00 Which one would you have chosen? At this stage I'm leaning more towards the Sigma
