  1. +1 I just ignore the members with bad attitude should I experience any. Must say that I havent really thought of some of them as people with bad attitudes, just maybe 'n bietjie meer vol k*k as ander mense!
  2. +1 Excellent athlete, very humble person
  3. I got for Christmas. Been using it in the week. No hassles. And you can use a normal "slick" mtb tire as trainer wheel
  4. My mantra is supposed to be: "Save half, spend half" Usually it ends up with: "what the heck....
  5. Wanted to do Breedt's Neck as final prep for K2C, but since being on anti-biotics again it will be a light session or two on the IDT @ 60-65% of HR Max Planning to take a day off next week Thursday and shoot through to Breedts for a final big ride
  6. [[...BUT for cycling, DO NOT attach your chip to the front fork (metal in your axle/skewer will cause interference), your shoe lace (chips lies horizontally and there is the metal of the pedal between the chip and the ground), or any other metal tube of the bicycle.]] Hmmm......not much options then! back triangle on opposite side of chain? dunno
  7. Guys So if I understand correctly, you can cable-tie the racetec chip to your fork? I will purchase my first one at the Karoo to Coast. Is this the best place to put it?
  8. Hey guys My training partner has space in his car for one rider and one bike down to K2C Leaving Centurion on the 23rd. Overnight in Colesberg. Sleeping in Knysna on the 24th. There will even be space for you in the bakkie to Uniondale on raceday. Returning the day after the race.....so its basically just a "hit & run" If you're looking for a lift, or know of someone, PLEASE PM me and I will supply you with his contact details. EVEN IF YOU STAY IN JHB AND CAN JUST MAKE IT TO THE N1 IT SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM
  9. I have a pair of these. Got them from South Bay cycles in Centurion for R520-00. Longest ride so far was 80km and find them very comfy and great padding.

  11. Yes I do.....but shite scared of the operation to remove...but then at least I will have a good excuse to give myself over to icecream for a while....
  12. U do get tjops on bikes below R5000-00 and can also pay R43-00 for 4 small lamb tjops at Spar too...choice is yours! I know guys with 20K+ bikes and they arent tjops, just hate them for their nice bikes!
  13. Thanks for the responses and positive words Hubbers....although a negative subject to talk about, a very positive discussion! Spoke to my dr, she also does mtb'ing. Outcome is as follows: Get a Cortisone Nasal spray (Avamis or something), Low intensity sessions of between 60 and 70% of HRMax. As I think Tombeej said this will limit loss of fitness, if any. She also advised me to take something like Linctagon C and continue with my immune booster (Airmune- apparently very good stuff this). Should then be ok. Anti-biotics not an option. If it comes back so soon after a course, it's viral, then anti-b's dont help. In addition to this...washing hands religiously, more than an apple a day. I'm armed with all the stuff now. Will give it a go, and will consider taking Beriglobin as last resort. Come hell or high water, I will still do the K2C. Even if I have to move my original goal (5H30min) to whatever, still going to enjoy it!
  14. YES! One sweet, awesome little angel of a 2 and half year old boy...explains a lot. And he's all over me all the time..Dad's the hero!
  15. Christie: yes the Deselex is an option and I have been trying to shed a few kg's Eldron: read what u said on other threads abouy that stuff, will talk to dr and hear what she says. One thing I know is that something must happen NOW Dangle: long time no see!sounds like u had it much worse than me. Thanks for the reality check man. Hope u recover quick too. I'm just desperate. After doing the Jock twice years ago and being lazy and lardy the next few years, this K2C was my 1st challenge of a few "projects" I have lined up. A lot of effort has gone into preparing for this. And although there is much left to be done, I'm fitter than I've been in years. I will take today off as well, and hear what the clever people has to say. Still need to put in some training as leaving until the 25th would not be a very good idea. Ok, my rant is over...hopefully u will see a "rave" on the 26th!
  16. I'm getting sick and tired of being sick all the time. Since the beginning of July, its been 4 times. Just started training last week after anti-biotics. Long ride on Saturday. Woke up this morning with a sore throat, swollen glands on side of throat, the usual sh*t. Have to go to dr to get checked out. My main worry is that Karoo to Coast is in less than three weeks. I take immunity boosters watch my diet. What more to do? I really want to do this race. Do I stop completely? Do I just resume training but at very low intensity? What? Please help a brother here, Hubbers
  17. PM gestuur!
  18. I gave up golf to start Cycling, but still go and browse at a Pro Shop now and then...maybe one day!
  19. Someone said that he glued a piece of tube to where it clips onto the body of the car. and that it prevented any damage. I had one last year, it stuffed the boot door up. WOuldnt never get one again. my new car has a towbar on and yeah, no looking back.
  20. Hey Macros77, when will u guys decide on the winners of that Adidas Evil Eyes? Would be sooooo nice to get me grubby little paws on one of them!
  21. Hey GT1 I guess it differs between individuals, but for me: I've had two Entegram shots this year, and regardless of taking them I got sick a few days after taking the shot. My son is in daycare and there are "bugs" that can be quite hectic (according to my dr) in a catch 22 because it's 4 and half weeks to Karoo to Coast and yet again a bug got hold of me. This isnt funny at all and stuffs me around big time. That is why I was considering takeing the Beriglobin. If I take the entry fees, travelling cost down to the race, training supplements, as well as my time spent training, R275-00 or anything that will prevent me from getting sick is nothing compared to the "investment" I already made
