  1. Reminded me of another never-say-die driver....
  2. Brilliant movie - that scene with Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken is brilliant
  3. There's a guy in the US who specializes in building CDI's for old IT's and aircooled YZ's - I actually had quite a long chat to him over email regarding building an Electronic Ignition for the Scrambler I built. He was telling me about the setup he had built - an old set of IT cases and a crank driven by an electric motor so he could vary the speed while he mapped the ignition curve. Really nice down to earth kind of guy and very knowledgeable - and if you read the YamahaIT forums, his modern ignition system for the IT's and YZ's are way better than the OEM originals
  4. Much like the aforementioned Accounts lady
  5. If any Japanese manufacturer felt there was merit in modernizing a 2T MX bike it would be Yamaha or Kawasaki - Yamaha because for very little design input they could bring the YZ250 bang on up to date by adding the swingarm, forks and hubs from the YZ450 - that would make a massive difference in the handling of the old YZ250 which last had a major upgrade in 2007 I think, and Kawasaki because they just generally give a big fat middle finger to convention by building bonkers bikes like H2R's and creating a segment where there isn't really one.
  6. I doubt very much if it's true - Honda made a big song and dance about how 2T's are dead and the future is 4T - Hell they were one of the biggest Contributors for the move from 500's to MotoGP. There is no way they are going to admit they were wrong. A 500 2T MX or Enduro bike is like that Bat-**** crazy Raven-haired mini-skirt and boots wearing beauty in Accounts - brilliant for a weekend away, but not so much when you have to live with it every day.....
  7. I enjoyed it so much I hauled out my old DVD of Unforgiven. I remember watching it back in 1992 and thinking how old Clint Eastwood looked back then. But a great movie nonetheless. That and Tombstone are two of my favorite Westerns

    Goeie genugtig, Marelize
  9. I asked Jade Gutzeit that question once when we were about to hit some stones alongside a railway track. His answer was pretty simple. Stand up, look up, open up....
  10. For those of you getting money back for flight booster - keep a close check - my Wife was due R1200-odd back on the 23rd of March and I was due R800-odd on the 23rd of this month - no luck. Took a few phone calls to get my wife's money paid with no explanation why the delay, but mine is still outstanding - even though the call was logged for both amounts. This also happened to two of our mates. I get the feeling that they don't pay on purpose and only when you query do they pay - but only after "investigating" for 5-10 working days.....

Wish I could still remember his "Island system" of doing Science - was pure genius! Anyone else have "u, v, a, t, s" drilled into their heads?

Dude I had a good laugh there. Back in the days when our PO was still proper and people still trusted each other we used to order the 3hr Video Cassettes and then pass them around our group of friends. Usually you ordered the cassette, paid and then when you sent it back they used to send you the next one. In our case, one tape passed through 3 or 4 kids before it got sent back. All the parents paid, and no-one ever dared not send it back. And you never worried once it was posted, because it wasn't going to get lost. I used to sit through 2 hours from 2-4 and then the last hour from 5-6 in the morning. Got me an A in science at the end of the year. And his hands were always covered in Blue and Red ink!
  13. Hell I'll gladly give them away if I knew they were going to a decent home. The desk of my Moms I remember from when I was probably 3 or 4 years old - she used it for sewing- and I reckon it belonged to her mom before that.
  14. May you be smote down with a 270-deg crankshaft for daring to suggest that......:-)
  15. My parents are moving to a retirement village and have a few nice Oregon Pine and Satinwood furniture pieces which need new homes Apart from the obvious Facebook marketplace and Gumtree are their any other avenues where I can advertise restored Furniture?
  16. Save your pennies..... https://www.rideapart.com/articles/304089/suzuki-dr-1000-big-rumors/
  17. I wonder if Russel Wood still has his here in SA. It makes a turn every now and again at the Zwartkops historic races
  18. In 1984 when I was 12 my Dad did something similar for me - except it was with 3 scrap motorbikes. You're teaching your son some seriously valuable skills right there. He will be forever grateful.
  19. Still think it's pig-ugly, and a bit pointless, but apparently the Niken has been getting quite a bit of positive publicity. And this can't hurt either.... https://www.letour.fr/en/news/2019/with-yamaha-the-tour-de-france-rolls-on-three-wheels/1276061 Didn't look like it was that tiring to ride over the cobbles yesterday too.
  20. We got Grace the Hooligan from Woodrock....

    MotoGP

I was at Phakisa in 2003 I think - the year when that Aprilia RS Cube tried to kill Colin Edwards at the start of the race
  22. I'm not so sure the Internet Police here at work would believe me if I told them I googled "Labia" to find a theatre. On a different note - watched The Highwaymen on Sunday - I really enjoyed it.
  23. oops!
