  2. Just want to echo the sentiments of thanks (@Wannabe). It was an enjoyable ride, although my lack of fitness currently clearly showed, not being helped by suddenly trying to do a whole lot of kms in one week before the Argus Unfit + over training in the same week = tired very early on Hopefully it would've helped the cause for this coming weekend though. In the words of Nacho Libre, this week I'll just "take it eeeeasy".

  6. I leave my bike at another open desk elsewhere in the office. Otherwise I have the same problem
  7. I try to leave as much as possible at the office. If it wasn't for commuting I'd probably no longer cycle, since I don't have the time otherwise to stay cycling fit on top of running and swimming, and now surfing ... o ja, and spending time with the family of course ;-)

  9. 05:30 start preferred, 06:00 otherwise. Flexible in either direction. Drunkies also my main concern. As far drunkies go, whether or not it's light makes little difference. It's just that they are more likely to be on the road earlier, rather than later. No guarantees though.

  11. I am already in J bunch. Hoped for a better placement, but since it is my first Argus and all I can't complain really. Looks like a nice group though. Come join the TdP!

  15. I also commute to Mowbray from that area. Well ... used to commute. The last two months have been lazy, but I started in earnest again this week, given that the world champs are coming up, so hopefully I can get some consistency going again for at least a month. I am not sure why I don't descend well. I feel like I am pushing as hard as I can on a downhill, and then guys still just go so much faster than me. Weight? Lack of strength? Over cautious? I don't know, perhaps a little bit of each. Fare slightly better on the hills though; not super hot, but at least better
  16. I normally get dropped on the downhills, and do ok on the hills. Maybe help each other out?

  18. I am definitely on the ride. The "maybe" is whether I am going to do it with Woofie from Table View or not
  19. It makes little difference to me either way. But I am glad that at least I make the Freedom Swim on 07 May, so my cold water conditioning is hopefully not in vain
  20. First Argus. Starting in J. Done less than 250km in the last two months though, so better pick it up a bit
  21. Don't joke. At this stage every 5 I save might be 5 I don't have to walk. That's a lot!
