I use the lane a lot. Have never had to 'weave my way'. For riding solo or for a small group it is perfectly fine. For a large group probably not so much. If the bike lane 'slows down' the pro's, let them ride on the road. Enough people will use (and currently are using) the lane to justify it's existence. This thread is actually just not necessary or helpful. Whilst I fully condone and encourage use of the bike lane, it doesn't bother me that some don't.

It's only a 10km run, how hard can it be? Maybe I really under estimate the difficulty of the course (it's happened before). Let's assume I am fit enough to do a tough-ish 42km run, and a tough-ish 100km+ MTB cycle, and that I have done similar events in the past. In that context, is the XTerra course so hard that I shouldn't consider doing it SS? If the answer is yes, then I'll reconsider, I don't mind doing it with gears. It must be one helluva course then. Actually, my bigger concern was not going SS, but the rigid fork (if it is rocky). But now you guys have me double guessing

Some good info there. Thanks pezulu. Was wondering how one would be treated when arriving at medical help, without having been able to identify the snake in the first place, since it seemed that anti-venom treatment is a no-go without such identification. Was thinking one is pretty stuffed then, regardless of medical help, so am glad to hear they have some broader scope treatment also. Still, it does seem prudent to get to know the snakes. No, that doesn't sound right. It seems prudent to gain knowledge about the snakes.
