  1. If anyone in the PTA/Kempton area is interested I may be able to get some free range grass fed organic beef for about R70/kg (all cuts). Still working on the details so send me a pm if you're interested and I'll see what the final cost would be.
  2. Eina. What happened?
  3. Vori-berg is on 8 Dec. Nice mix of everything and surprisingly tough.

    2012 94.7

Had a great day out supporting our the charity bond, Cycling for Pathways, which we started this year. Our group of 70 odd riders wore the bee suits and shirts and had a great time. I have huge respect for each and every crazy person that ride in the various outfits and suits as it must be severely draining. Rode slowly on the mtb next to my wife who's not the fittest but we managed a sub 5 hour ride. Next year we will be riding again and our charity will be bigger and better.
  5. Just out of interest sake Dipslick, what blood group are you?
  6. Apparently Baviaans kloof is quite nice to cycle through. Was a write up in one of the outdoorsy magazines a few months ago.
  7. Agree with the swimming or cross training. When I train for the midmar I shed at least 5-10kg in a few weeks as it's a completely different set of muscles being used than just cycling. Even walking will help you through the block. Also eating fresh fruit and veggies as mid snack snacks helps to get the metabolism up. Your jaw should be moving at least every 2 hours. Replace supper with a light salad and eat your usual supper at midday.
  8. Was surprised how many people had earphones at the Momentum 94.7 40km fun-ride this weekend. Had a good laugh at a guy and his girl going up the hill almost shouting at each other. Both with earphones plugged in.
  9. And he got hit twice.
  10. Hi Murray I'm sending you an email with the details on how we may be able to help.
  11. Ha-Ha!! But I do keep some Cigarellos in my Camelbak for fresh air on the uphills.
  12. Wannabe's! Texan plain which you double clutch and chain smoke.
  13. I see Strava has updated their App with crashes and bug fixes some of the issues fixed. I suggest also uninstalling the APP completely and then downloading and installing the new App. Once done, hard reset your phone by holding in both buttons until the Apple logo appears. It also helps to clear the cache by stopping all background apps. Wife and I have both Strava and Endomondo and they work fine on Iphone 4 with Ios6.

    Tough question?

I think when Chopper Read feels a bit down and life gets a bit over the top for him he goes to FRAIL to HTFU.

  16. There was a Omega Vortex for sale a few months ago. https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&do=view_item&item_id=33056
  17. Well done Johan and Anton on your good service!! I hope that I never have to replace my Silverback but if I do I know that the matter will be handled well. Add to the winds also the transport strikes a few weeks ago and everyone is pulling hair out and graying prematurely.
  18. Just out of interest where did your frames crack? I also have the Vida 1 and it may help to keep an eye on these areas.
  19. They are sometimes a bit disorganized but I've only had good service from Anton. He even delivered my bicycle to my house after hours when I couldn't make their shop closing time.
  20. Got mugged last week Thursday by 2 buggers at a traffic light. Waiting for the light to change and suddenly 2 pair of hands in the car one switched off the ignition and the other grabbed my neck and shoulders. I struggled a bit with one of them until I saw the knife to my ribs. Handed over my and my nieces cellphones and they casually walked off. I was lucky they didn't want to hi-jack us (I'm driving my dad's bantam whilst my car is in the shop) and i just got a little nick on the arm but lessons learnt. Windows should be kept almost closed and valuables out of sight. I always maintain a high degree of awareness but on the day tired and almost home and BAM. Iphone was switched on yesterday and tracking shows it now resides in Maputo.
  21. PM them to me I'll post them for you
  22. hopefully Schumacher isn't in the field...
  23. Thought they only win the money from that stage if they complete the race. Wasn't there some restriction to that effect?
  24. Also can't make it so my 70km entry available.
