  1. The real winner in this listing: "** Send me a number with a question mark and I'll send a yo'mama joke back"
  2. You are the one asking for it to be replaced. 😎
  3. I would ask for another replacement to be sent. The thing is, Ibis is a great brand with a great bunch of people, but even if you do this properly you will have to declare the work done one day when you sell it and that will have an impact on 2nd hand value. Meaning you will get less for it. Probably a lot less.
  4. Is that a brand-new Ibis? Now ways you should have to go through this to have something like this sorted on your end.
  5. My Valerian Carbon Ultimate is up and running... https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-Pnm2pKWuN/
  6. There we go. I expected this thread to be a coded place for Hellsworth owners to share pics of their bikes.
  7. Bottle: Camelback Podium. TBH I've not had issues with that bottle in just about any of the cages I've used through the ages. Lyne, Specialized, Supacaz cages all seem to gel with that bottle.
  8. Is your 8 year old rall enough for 26" wheels?
  9. Easy. If the plugin allows you to address genuine bad reviews, then it allows you to address these that were quite clearly an error. So, contact the reviewer, ask them if there where any issues, and if not, if they would mind to update the star rating. Boom. To be fair hellopeter is a place people go to moan and companies get charged mega bucks to reply or engage. What it does however show is there are a fair amount of unhappy customers. Add those to the positive reviews from elsewhere and you a more reflective score.
  10. All website platforms offer a plugin where reviews can be addressed/viewed/replied to on a page away from the product page, or at least your live to the public website. You can either set this plugin to auto-publish any reviews above a certain star rating or hold all reviews for review before selecting which ones to be published to your site. Some also offer functionality to exclude unpublished reviews from the overall product rating tally. That's called cooking the books.
  11. Respectfully disagree. And apologies to Ciovita for having this discussion here... Think of it this way: What is the purpose of reviews if not for a prospective buyer to get an idea of what they are buying into? Good service, good quality control, good value for money, etc., etc., etc. But in this case, as in many cases online, the company ONLY shows the reviews they've cherry-picked. How convenient. Now, as a prospective buyer, you will have no idea of some of the "known" issues that shouldn't necessarily stop the sale, but at least make you aware. Imagine there were some reviews online about the sizing issues, this may help some buyers to double-check before they buy rather than go through the hassle of buying the wrong size, having to return it, etc. Disclaimer: not having a go at Ciovita as I know of several companies who do this, and I 100% do not agree with or like the practice. ****** Now back to Ciovita: With a a figure that low they should have no issue including them on their site and rather work internally to bring that down rather than hiding them away from the buying public. Looking at this, no one ever has an issue with Ciovita. Now call that whatever the hell you want, but that is not an honest portrayal of the actual situation. But at the same time, according to their own stats adding the negative reviews will have little no no real impact on those stats so why exclude them? ****** @Danger Dassie think about this the next time you book into that 4.8-star B&B only to find out that it is nothing like their online profile. Or when you eat out and don't understand why all of a sudden a spot with good reviews serves you a sub-par meal. Call it gaming, call it massaging the truth, call it acceptable practice, call it what you want, but it sure as hell ain't the truth. ****** Come on @CIOVITA, do what's RIGHT, whether the alternative is accepted or not. That's not too much to ask.
  12. I hear ya, also I feel ya. BUT! Here is the problem: A review is a review, you can't decide which ones suit your marketing message. If resolved, add functionality where the reviewer can post an update. Doing that is being transparent, and more truthful and will help build trust that when things go wrong, Ciovita's CS team will assist. Why not reply to good reviews with a "Thank You" and then mark those as resolved as well? The answer is pretty simple, innit? Do what's right and play both sides of the album. YOU who is typing here as Ciovita is also a consumer and would love for all companies, brands and people you deal with to be honest and truthful.
  13. To only display positive reviews is already bad enough, to use only those reviews to tally an average rating is downright dishonest.
  14. Sadly, this is (fairly) common practise. I'd love to live in a world where all brands can own up to the good and the bad, but that ship has sailed for most. I saw this in the UK and although still marketing, loved how KFC owned up to the bad reviews their fries got there. Bold, but refreshing.
  15. Yes, buy a new Titan Racing over a 2nd hand whatever else. You'll have the joy of a brand new bike, with brand new parts that comes with great backup and warranty. The new TR's are all great bikes. Myles at bikenetwork.co.za did a proper review of the 2 Skyrim models, take a look: https://youtu.be/IQWa13K7Hb0?si=YxWg374hqtD9C9ep
  16. I have a Westfalia 3 bile rack for you. Still need to get around to listing it in the classifieds. As a Thule guy this is the closest you'll get for sensible money. Let me know if you're keen. Its been reviewed by the Bike Hub team https://bikehub.co.za/news/review-westfalia-3-bike-carrier-r8298/
  17. I've kindly requested said JHB dealer to never ever contact me again. Not too long ago I advertised an ebike for R75k and they offered me R55k - I sold it for R75k two days later. They then offered me R5k for a basically brand-new gravel bike advertised for R12,500. It was at this point that I asked them to move along. It sold for R11,500 a week later.
  18. Mark's in Bellville? https://www.facebook.com/marksbicycleworkshop/
  19. I heard they were re-doing the shop or something along those lines.
  20. Use Bike Hub pay. Many people join Bike Hub to buy or sell, and quite a few do so to do it immediately. Bike Hub pay will protect you. Over and above that, use common sense and don't fall for typical scammer tricks. Again, Bike Hub pay is your friend here. I have close to 50 5-star ratings, and many people still use Bike Hub pay when dealing with me. Also, use Bike Hub pay. But seriously, Bike Hub pay.
  21. It would be interesting to see the same stats for road and mtb.
  22. 1. Defintely get a platform rack. 2. Invest in a good one, it will last close to a lifetime. 7b. I'm selling a Westfalia 3 bike platform rack. Reviewed here on Bike Hub. If anyone is keen let me know, I just need to scrub it then get it listed in the classifieds.
  23. I've spent some time on one and would pick it every day of the week over a traditional hardtail. It is a lot of fun on single track, great up climbs and when you're just pedalling along it definitely feels like a more comfortable seating position. Factor in that i don't ride to win anything, but for fun. For the pure enjoyment of riding a bike.
