  1. Rather you than me, IDT is not fun at all ...
  2. I don't see it working quite the same. With running its all about getting on the right pace and maintaining it as constant as possible, and that is exactly what the "bus leaders" do, they are always very experienced runners capable of going much faster. Zero drafting effect. With cycling, obviously drafting a very real thing, would the bus leader ride in front and break the wind for the group start to finish? I would be very happy & comfortable saying I did a Bill Rowan (sub 9:00) running in a "bus" for Comrades. I would not be comfortable saying I did sub 3:00 while sitting on someone else's wheel the entire time .... đŸ¤ˇâ€â™‚ī¸
  3. Anyone got seeding for the MTB race yet?
  4. Sorry but that's just piss poor !!!! How difficult is it to use the actual contact and not your emergency contact .... ☚ī¸
  5. If they did a better job initially there would be far less re-seeding requests .... đŸ¤Ļ‍♂ī¸
  6. A few hours, submitted early the morning at got it later the same day. The strange thing is, they sent the reseed info to my wife's phone, I don't remember even entering her number ... 🙈
  7. Thanks M, worth a shot to try & link it to my account, if it doesn't work I will get one at race pack collection.
  8. Thanks, that work. I hate pop-ups, why do they have to keep using the crap ...
  9. Since it will be my first 947 MTB & Road ride, I need to buy a "timing board". But its not working on here: https://ridejoburg.co.za/timingchip/ I enter my details and then nothing happen after that. Anyone know what the issue is? Would also like to know if I can use the same number/board for both races.
  10. Sounds like they did not put a lot of effort into the initial seeding .... 🙈
  11. I was batch M (will be my first 94.7) but already upgraded to "J" after I submitted a change request. Asked for J and the gave me J .
  12. I only use Look S-Track but getting difficult to buy these days. I experienced non of the play you mention up till now, mine is 100% solid on both my bikes.
  13. Yeah ... I dont think this BB mounted shock design bikes will never grow on me .... EVER. Much prefer top tube mounted designs with the Trek Supercaliber looking the best of the lot.
  14. No, just a pic from the net .... 😁 Was too lazy to walk to the garage to take one 🙈
  15. I know its a bit off topic, but still relevant, for frames like mine where there is simply only space for one bottle, you can use this little sucker: https://evobikes.co.za/product/wolftooth-b-rad-double-bottle-adapter/ Allow 2 bottles to be mounted side by side, work 110% for me. Maybe be not for those with "Hulk" size calve muscles ...
  16. Nope ! I got my IDT set up in the garage but hardly ever use it simply because I hate it, its not the same as being out there at all. OP, just start trapping and figure the details out as you go.
  17. Also the state of charge depend on the rate of discharge. Have a look at this for more details info: https://www.scubaengineer.com/documents/lead_acid_battery_charging_graphs.pdf
  18. When I still had Pb batteries I had bulk on 56.4V and float on 54V. 58V is too high for bulk, you going to damage your batteries. I suggest 45V for low cut-off. Anything lower than this will cause them not to last. Pb - Acid batteries you need to take care of like a baby, very carefully.
  19. Only people that actually used a soldering iron before will see it .... đŸ¤Ļ‍♂ī¸đŸ˜‚
  20. That bike look very niiiiceee ! He's going to enjoy it for sure.
  21. Same here, when its extremely hot I sweat more than the average person and get bad cramps as a result. Wind help to cool me down and not sweat so much. Yes, its harder work, but I prefer that.
  22. You went very close past me also in New Redruth, welcome to get some refreshments next time 🙂
  23. They are plus minus a year old and still hold charge as well as you can expect from Pb Acid batteries.
  24. I have 4 x 200 Ah GEL batteries that I dont use anymore after I bought Li batteries. Welcome to make me an offer ... 😁 Just a word of caution, any Pb batteries is a waist of money & time imho, but I guess as a temp solution to get through loadshed (ONLY) do have some value.
  25. Even more worth it if you can add PV panels to more than make up for that inefficiency loss ...
