  1. Does anyone have any experience with the Breville Barista Express? From online reviews it seems pretty legit. https://www.home.co.za/pdp/breville-barista-express/_/A-334002AAAA1

  11. Did you buy a Cannondale? I've got a Cannondale Flash with SRAM BB30. The Flash is just much better than my previous bike, so I think a lot of the improved stiffness and pedaling efficiency is due to that rather than the BB30. But I can't be sure. Regarding maintenance: Yes very easy to remove the SRAM crankset, but removing the pressfit bearings you need the tool. But yes, easy to get to clean externally and re-apply grease. Regarding durability: Here I am not so impressed. After about 8 months (2000-2500kms) my BB started feeling rough. I'm still riding it now and it's fine. So doesn't seem as durable as Hollowtech. BB30 is also more expensive to replace...
  12. Only the 75km was R250. But with the mud, a cycling shop is a good business to be in...
  13. I have some friends that are going for their first long ride this weekend :-)
  14. Dont have a figure for you but it's fairly flat. Climbing only in the last 20km so save some legs. My guess would be at 700m of climbing (if that).
  15. Mine did exactly the same. Except this weekend it finally popped after developing a marshmallow sized bubble. Mine had about 2500km on which is a shame because the tread is still good...
  16. Thanks for the replies. So then seems like I was at the correct place, but the final signage and instructions just weren't up to scratch, therefore the confusion. Was just weird that we got the number boards from the guard at the boom and he just didn't know what was going on and no one else was on site to help. I'll give it another try though.
  17. Thanks, will try the other entrance next time.
  18. We were at the Paul Cluver entrance. Stopped at the boom and the guys gave us the permits. Then proceeded up to, where i presume, the restaurant is. And at the big buildings turned right.
  19. I was just following the signage. And 50m before the gate there was a sign. Going straight up the road you get to a massive building with a sign to go right for MTB. ANd then about 50m later a close gate. GPS coordinates for google maps: -34.169449, 19.087261
  20. When I got to the top where the buildings are we went right (according to the signage) and then into a closed black electric gate.
  21. I posted this in another thread too... Bit of a rant coming up... A friend and myself set out for Paul Cluver yesterday morning since we've only heard good things about the trails. When we got there we paid our R50 permit (which seemed on the high side, but whatever). We drove up to the electric gate at the top, only to find it closed. The guard gave us no code to the PIN pad, and the buzzer also didn't work. We then drove down to the guard again only for him to inform us that he doesn't have the remote or the code for the gate?? He then phoned someone which would come and open the gate. About 5mins later, he comes back to us and tells us the guy isn't coming with the remote, but he found another remote. But he is not allowed to give it to us. We then ask him if he has the contact details of anyone else that administers the trails. He did not. I don't really blame the security guard. He's only been working there two days and the owners or organizers should have better prepared him. They should also have thought about who will open the freaking trails in the morning in the first place. Bit of a let down and not the ideal bike date . We had to "settle" for Oakvalley. Luckily a good alternative. Guess I'll have to wait for W2W before riding there...
  22. Can we just come enter the morning of the race? So consensus is: 65km will be very tough. 35km will be tough 15km will be manageable. I'm not in the mood for a sufferfest so will go for 35km and give it horns.
  23. Meintjies 2nd. Impressive!
  24. And as we are speaking Meintjies is attacking the big guns at Giro del Trentino
  25. Anywhere where we can get the high-res versions? For some cool desktop backgrounds to distract from normal "if (x > y%10)" days?
