  1. Yes the last few Km's were good, I liked Danny Martins attack, put a bit of pressure on the peleton straight away, but Wiggins was up to it so it fizzled out. Still a good try by Danny though.
  2. Yes, agree, especially if it rains, I dont think the climbs are severe enough for Quintana to get away. I fancy someone like Danny Martin to win, but Wiggins should have no problem with that climb either, he could well be in the mix.
  3. Frankly I am very irritated with the quality of programme's on DSTV, in my opinion its real third rate stuff, I tried watching that movie Sunday night, ten minutes in I fell asleep, I mean this is prime viewing time surely they can find something of interest.
  4. - Ha, Ha, Yah, I used to watch it as well, but it got a bit monotonous, very much the same thing over and over, but its worth it just to see what people dream up and hope to sell. I'll never forget one guy who came up with a Battery powered LED light to stick to a STOP sign pole to alert people it was a STOP sign, I mean he probably meant well but honestly, what was he thinking, the one Dragon made a Classic comment when he said "Its a light stuck on a pole, thats all" Another was that fella who developed some sort of roller skate you strap to your knees so you can roll around the floor when doing house work, he did a demo of washing the floor, everyone was in fits of laughter but the guy was quite serious.!
  5. Another interesting fella is Cat Stevens, went to one of his concerts way back. Always liked this song.
  6. Yeah, interesting fella, I remember when he lost his son, very sad news. Not fond of all his music, he had some really big hits, "Slow hand" was for me his best album "Lay down Sally" - Classic, but also some shockers. Although they all do I guess.
  7. Felt a like a little easy listening music tonight so got some Toni Childs playing, "Union". Kinda forgot how nice this song was.
  8. Yah, with you, it was about a year or so ago I bought mine but it wasn't 3k - cant really remember exactly what it was but it was quite a bit less,....Phew, I would have remembered 3 K for sure.
  9. Try the recommendations but from my experience when I crashed and broke my left one, the shop told me I had to buy a pair and that they couldn't get single STI's. I eventually bought a single left one online in the USA, but locally I never got further.
  10. Ha, Ha, thats excellent, where did you find it.? Love the humor, almost thought LL wrote it.!
  11. ...and Horner is still without a contract.? Hmm wonder why, surely someone who breaks all grand tour riders records for the toughest climbs, rides some of the worlds best climbers off his wheel like they were pedestrian and wins a grand tour 5 years older than the previous oldest man to win a grand tour in 1922 who was 36 at the time should at least have a few team managers camped outside his door pen and paper ready.? Personally I stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago, great TV maybe but I reckon the peleton know what a rider is physically capable of and whats normal, but like when Froome had fingers pointed at him the peleton supported him, yesterday opposing teams supported Nibali and helped him where they could, they cant come out and point fingers for obvious reasons, but they make their own statements which are just as loud. Sorry, as far as I am concerned "when it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, chances are good........it is a duck."
  12. Yeah, heres the story. http://www.cyclingne...a-at-the-vuelta Lots of head scratching going on, he climbed the hill at about 1.5 kmph faster than anyone previously, thats a big gain!
  13. - and substantially faster as well.
  14. Medically I dont understand what happened, I wonder if anyone would be able to explain in simple terms the medical issue as to why he would lose feeling below a certain point. I ask as I had a lumbar fusion and although I never lost feeling I had tremendous pain and a huge loss of strength, would this be a similar issue just a lot more severe.?
  15. Did he really? I didn't know, that but thats very impressive indeed. Gilberto Simoni would have been impressed, may have even called it an "Extraterrestrial" achievement, and coming from a climber of Simoni's palmares, it would be an honor .
  16. Yup, I said it before somewhere but LA had a great saying "Its not normal".
  17. Naa, not the Fourno's pastries, must be something else, anything that tastes as good as a few fresh Fourno's chocolate croissant's has to be good for you. I reckon its the coffee.
  18. Phew, sounds awful. I go quite chilly just thinking about it.
  19. I enjoyed Kiryienka's win, he is a great rider, quiet and just gets on with it, - a far better climber than the heavily overrated Henao as well.
  20. Yeah, I have a lot of respect for Garmin's business ethic and service, its professional, empowered and well motivated, many retailers across the SA business spectrum could do worse than take a leaf out of their page, never let me down yet either.
  21. Nibali will be quite happy for a break or Rodriguez to win and take the bonus seconds, Rodriguez is not likely to gain almost 3 minutes on him on one climb, Horner will be his focus today and he has been climbing pretty well if you ask me, with only a few seconds in it Nibali cant afford a bad day or its goodbye to the red jersey.
  22. Tough climb to finish today, spots of 18 and 20% its going to be catastrophic if you have a bad day. I am gonna be rooting for Scarpo today, my head says Rodriguez or Valverde, but I will be hoping Scarpo can make a break and take the stage, he is in very good form in my opinion and sitting a bit back so Nibali wont feel like chasing him down. That said I think today will be a big test for Horner, Cancellera has gone home and he protected Horner heavily on the early slopes, only Kiserlovski left today and he will find it hard to pull all the way. I think Nibali may try and isolate Horner today and see if he can get back some time, these slopes wont worry him, the Giro climbs are much harder and he has shown this is where he excels.
  23. Yes, so do I actually, just usually watch the last 30 odd Kms, before that I just glance through to see if anything is happening.
  24. - No, they dont even want to justify it, they know its not feasible, its just a starting figure for negotiations, they dont expect to ever recover that amount, but if they started at $1000.00 were do you go from there.? American law is a different animal, legal firms are required by law to do a certain amount of Pro Bono work so many take on these cases where there is a chance of recovery as part of their obligations. Afterwards they may continue on a share basis in any recovery or just stop proceedings. However the litigious nature of the US beast makes me think some lawyer took a good look at the case, decided there was a big insurance company covering publications for cases like this and decided to go go for it. Its purely opportunistic, they are bargaining on the insurance company looking at it and saying "Well, its gonna cost us (for example figures here) $400.000 to fight this in court, there is no guarantee of winning, so lets offer them $200.000 and make them sign a non disclosure document, the lawyer will accept, and everyone is happy, case closed, problem solved, lets move on. Of course, we all know this would never happen here or in most countries for obvious reasons, but as I said, the US is a different beast.
  25. Yesterday was a good stage, probably the best one so far, for me anyway. As Mathew Keenan said the heart rate monitors and power meters were ditched for this one, real seat of the pants bike racing. Mollema was another surprise for me on a sprinters stage, but, as EzRider said, "Pick a rider, ........it will be wrong."
