I have 36H DRC rims on XT hubs as well as 36H Open pros on Deore hubs - both disc. Both work well. Cup and cone hubs can last indefinitely if serviced regularly and well.

I think you are right. Just waiting for the BB now. Have: Shimano 600 Crankset with NOS Biopace 600 DT shifters - perfect 600 FD - good condition. The fly in the ointment is the RD at the moment, because I stupidly sold my 600 RD last year. i will source a nice alternative shortly. Thanks for the input.
Fixed gear bike drivetrains scare , as do disc brake rotors when it comes to lopping off bits! As a chef, I cut the fleshy ends of two fingers off on some unfinished shelving in my kitchen a few years ago. the experience was not pleasant at all. Luckily no bone involved, so recovery, unlike yours, was relatively simple. Hope you recover soon.

A few of the rolling chassis...just waiting for the BB to arrive before I begin final assembly I think she looks quite elegant. The decals I am not so sure about - I'll wait to complete the build then have a good look as to whether i should lose some. A few very minor tweaks to come such as changing the seatpin and brake-pads etc.
Hey guys! Look what was GIVEN to me at no charge today...... Campagnolo Olmo seat post with Italian colours in the flutes!!!!!! I need some help in finding the bottom attachments which will allow the seatpost to function. Anyone have some lying about, or know where i may find some? Any help hugely appreciated! Thanks
