  9. Lets just look at it from the European cyclist's perspective for a second here. In Europe, the cars have to pass on the other side of the rode, and lets be honest, the drivers there will be more accommodating to cyclists there as they are practically seen as gods. Rene probably is used to riding in such a fashion
  10. Guys, I have to thank you yet again for providing some lovely entertainment. Man I love this site
  11. I should have said "experience first hand"
  12. All witnesses experience things first-hand. However' date=' your statement is not very useful. Tell us what the problems were and what you think caused them. [/quote'] Hey Johan, that sounds like bicyle maintanence 101 ha ha point taken. The tubes I were given to try out came with the slime in already. They worked like a charm, I never had to replace the tubes until the valves eventually got stuck and I couldn't release air or inflate the tube. Oh yes, and they cause one hell of a mess. I also found them to be ridiculously heavy too. Hey I suppose it all depends on what you are going for! Not for me though boeing2008-01-14 14:42:56
  13. I have witnessed first hand problems with valves in road tyres
  14. I kinda have to agree with marc. Crashing is part of the sport and a race is a race. That said, I do feel that however there are way too many inexperienced riders being allowed to cycle with the higher echelons of the sport. During the 2005 Argus I was taken out 20 Km into the race by the guy in front of me (He clipped the wheel in front and pulled hard on the brakes bringing himself down with 10-20 others) This nut then got back on his bike without looking behind him. I feel here the person could have apologised, but basically in cycling you have to watch out for yourself (Don't overlap wheels etc)

What is the general knowledge, opinion and experience with latex BICYCLE tubes? Due to the nature of the hub, I ask for your cooperation with useful information i.e. no cocky (pardon the pun) stuff! but that is just wishful thinking!
  18. tHose are the ones. i know they are pretty pricey you can source the cheaper aluminum version. I think that is round about R8000. I may be wrong on that so don't quote me. I so badly want a set.
  19. I did read that now. If I had to be honest, I would have a look at the specialized roval's with the rapide star flange.
  20. magnesium is stiffer and lighter than carbon. It just isn't that durable. Have a look at what the pro's ride. Even though there are small amounts of magnesium, carbon is still the preferred choice. It tells you something
