  1. Dont get me wrong, i know all the logistics involved in the pro scene. I road the last edition of the Tour de Eden. on the second stage, i lost the peloton with about 80 odd kays to go. I knew there was no way I would catch the group, or would I make the elimination cut off, but i had to finish the stage. As a result, i can sympathise with a guy like Voeckler. and in my opinion, the guy is going to train the next couple of days anyway; what better training is there to racing and racing hard???? oh and Im not a Argus fun rider
  2. it follows the mentality of out of sight out of mind. pretty small mind I say
  3. Analyser, I dont discount the fact that David is a lost talent, but the guy had more chances than anyone else to prove himself. He was with US Postal with Lance and Boonen if I remember correctly, but he wasn't prepared to be a Dom. Also, looking at the profile, and the sort of riders that finished, the route didn't suit either Impey or Hunter. Word of advice. Double check what you want to say before you crucify yourself
  4. Just one thing. If you are on anti-biotics, dont just stop using them. Thats not a really good idea. Finish the prescription. Eat well. Sleep. Take time off exercise
  5. Aah man! Where is the black nail polish and eyeliner
  6. im for a league format! i think it would make the competition more interesting, and you'l see more new talent and different teams getting the opportunities they deserve! It might also bring more interest and sponsorship to the sport!
  7. You should check out the guys shop as well! Mostly for triathlons, but worth the look! Its in Rivonia... now where did no.one.knows put those pamphlets?
  8. He's lucky he didn't rupture his Femoral artery! Rest well, take it easy and lets see you back on the bike soon!
  9. Salmonella scares Ha Ha The only one that has a WADA stamp of approval in this country is Energy Dynamics! Give it a try, really good! Iv started using the Octane as a race drink! Haven't had a bad experience yet! I used to use Fit! The stuff works but there are some dodgy ingredients in there! Id say give the Energy Dynamics a bang! Since I used it, I recover slightly quicker between rides!
  10. i do! ha ha! Its the price you pay! Half of the job being a pro sports-man is knowing what you can and cant use, and being extra-vigilent!
  11. First and foremost, dont buy into the whole supplement industry; most of the things that supplements claim to do are false (Oxygen carrying capacity being one such claim) Secondly, the supplement industry is completely unmonitored! In other words, the brands can put whatever they want into their products, make false claims etc and get away with it! you can test positive from supplementation! (its how shoaib malik, and shoaib aktar pulled a positive about a year ago!) there was an article in the Sunday Times on the 22 July on the exact topic! Thirdly, you are seventeen, dont stuff around with ! You dont need to! Work hard and eat properly! Fourthly, its a supplement; in other words, itys not a meal replacement! Eat properly first, your body will do the rest! So basically, all you need really is a good energy drink, and drink egg-nog 30 minutes after your ride/gym session! If you cant stomach egg-nog, you're obviously not that serious about your cycling!

  13. Going back to the article...its not exactly ground breaking research that! Train in your target zones! Thats why you need to build a base! Except its when you need to perform consistently that it becomes an issue! Drugs still play their part! Its very naive to interpret the article like that!
  14. Ha Ha! It sucks at the time but at least you can have a chuckle about it afterwards! Rollers alos help with the fluidity of pedalling! Try doing one minute single legs!
  15. The saying goes something like this: 1 hour on the rollers is 2 hours on the road!
  16. I aint going to lie, I think the guy is probably wanting a ton of space right now! One of his good friends just passed away! I reacon he'l look worn at the lab tomorrow! But well done bud! I hope this isn't going to be the one and only! Time to brink back a green jersey and possibly a cobblestone???
  17. I wouldn't worry about Max Hr! Chris Froome's is something ridiculously low! And that guy is an animal!

This is the saddest news Iv heard for a long time! A true loss! All my condolences and best wishes to family and friends!
  19. Agreed, money is the major issue, but maybe, thats where the entrance fees to the races should go! If we want to develop cycling in this country, thats one step forward
  20. that looks more like a track bike! I dont exactly see any hairpins in a velodrome!
  21. And the problem starts where? the level that wasn't tested at all....U23! I happen to be at U23 level and I dont see any controls at any races! Thats the time in a cyclists pro-life where you should nail doping, before they hit a contract!
  22. So Nick was the only Elite tested! thats very interesting! I think it should be standard that your top 10 is tested and 5 randoms in each category! I would actually go as far as saying that everyone should be tested! I think its stupid, and anyone who is as naive as saying that the locals dont dope here..........open your eyes
