  1. "Clayton44400 has large 2 frames for sale: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=23856 I think Trek like Bianchi has a no questions asked replacement policy, so if you have any issues, they wont let you down." Actually Bianchi in South Africa has a 3 year warranty - after that you are on your own. I think u will also need to advise on where it was bought. Trek has a life time to the original owner.
  2. No Man. If some cyclists dies on the road because of a vehicle,to me that could have been avoided and was totally unnecessary. The 20 - 30k dead was a natural disaster - its two different things - dont even try compare them.
  3. When buying a bike always consider 1) Handling 2) Weight 3) Fit Solomons is selling a trek 8000 for around 10.5k - it seems like a good buy in that price range http://www.solomons.co.za
  4. I am disappointed - no one has told me my avatar is sexy and offensive Just look at my sexy avatar Ooooooo behaaaaaaaavvvvvvvvveeeee
  5. My first magalies - I punctured at the start! - had to fix - and started right at the back of the 45km mass start. Worked my way to 99th from the back of about 450 riders - was hectic - a bent small chain ring (after descending down some serious rocks! and bouncing off one of them with my ring (lol)) - almost doing a 360 degree endo on some of the rocky downhill sections. The monster will test ure skill. Its really a great race - its got plenty of climbs ,very soft sand - downhills with rocks for africa. U will have to walk/run at some point of the race. One or two small stream crossings.
  6. Holy sh$t U might bump into osama
  7. a friend went to Aus 2 days - adsl installed 10 minutes car registered in his name clean parks with kids playing Interview on Thursday - started work on Monday
  8. I always thought He was a chop. This has just proved it again. My original opion on Gareth had nothing to with cycling.
  9. In the open seeded cat - u can start with any bunch behind you (but not ahead) So what if u get dropped in race with the bunch u start in? it is exactly the same as starting in the bunch behind you. I would have rode with the bunch behind, and then argued at the end with the race official. Thats just me. I have ridden in plenty races in different bunches - sometimes catching the faster bunches - sometimes joining a slower bunch. I think in the open seeded - anything goes - in the open seeded who gives a sh#t where u ride ?. The licensed cat riders are far more serious. hence the numbers on the bike, etc, etc
  10. I had the same problem with the press with respect to the world cyber games. http://www.worldcybergames.com/6th/2008/Overview/general.asp seems if the sport is not "main" stream then it is not noted in the general press.
  11. Try a regrease - it helped my bike its amazing how a little sand can make a huge sound in a bike frame.
  12. ooooo veyyyyy Hopefully your recovery is speedy and not complicated!

  14. Those are timed riders. The real stats will be all riders. MTb is growing very fast - most cyclists feel safer in the dirt. I know cyclists who have converted to mtb and given up on road.
  15. I saw the race. Something weird happend at the end. With last "hot spot" being announced - with 1 minolta rider pulling a gap - the field slowed down after the 1st minolta rider crossed the line. I think they thought the race was over - then realizing the race was still on - picked up the pace. There was no chance of catching the minolta dude with half a lap advantage by then.
  16. I thought Richard Brandson was quirky and eccentric. He does not have any problems with cheques. I thought he was still "pissed" from the party the night before during an interview on 702.
  17. I put them on. The fit seems very good. Will see what happens on/off road next weekend.
  18. Help! I bought a used bike that has the stans tubeless conversion. The rear tyre is now finished (after a years racing and training) I went to buy and a new tyre today - continental leader ust 26*2.1 got home to find the following instruction on the sidewall "mount only on hooked type rims" My original tyres with the stans notubes is the continental vapour protection. What tyres can I use as replacements ? mudda2008-01-06 05:13:42
