  6. Nice what size frame is that?
  7. ICE ID-When I broke 11 ribs and punctured my lung it spoke for me. Ambulance driver wanted to take me to a state hospital ,but luckily the paramedic saw the bracelet and my medical aid info and took me to Netcare. I cannot comment on sweat safe?

  9. Well at my last fitness test I weighed 74kg's. This gave me a BMI of about 20 and that's fine if you are an athlete. And I quote: If your BMI is below 20: This indicates a lean BMI, which means you have a low amount of body fat. If you are an athlete, this can be desirable. If you are not an athlete, a lean BMI can indicate that your weight may be too low which may lower your immunity. If your BMI and body weight are low, you should consider gaining weight through good diet and exercise habits, to increase your muscle mass. If your BMI is between 20 and 22: This indicates the ideal, healthy amount of body fat, which is associated with living longest, and the lowest incidence of serious illness. Coincidentally, it seems this ratio is what many individuals perceive to be the most aesthetically attractive. See and I'm attractive according to above
  10. lol I'm almost at my birth weight now
  11. I don't know I have always been a good climber... 1.89m @ 70kg's and 6.8kg bike thats all you need
  12. Glad you are okay... Were you in the bunch that went around Marine this morning? I can't remember anyone falling. Motorists in PE are already fed up with cyclists so I'm not surprised that no one stopped. PS:How's the bike?
  13. Hectic! Wanted to say I have not seen you around lately hope you recover soon....
  14. I must agree Swisstop yellow have lasted me for two years already and still plenty of mileage left. Even helped me brake in time when I went left at a turn off this morning during a race and the rest of the group went right(the right way)
  15. I should think the first two options ie never ridden 0 km's done.
  16. Geez both for one customer????? Stunning bikes
  17. Yes I fired off an email after the incident and then got a call from the girl working behind the counter yapping on about how unhappy she was about the email I sent suggesting that they were responsible and how ethical their shop was they would have told me if they were responsible etc. At the end off the phone call I had a headache,my blood pressure was through the roof so I ended the call by putting the phone down in her ear Anyways I'm kinda over it ,but not 100% :-) At least I'm getting new 7900 Dura Ace ,but the wifey is not to happy ,because she knows that money was going to come out of her Christmas pressie's budget......
  18. Thanks guy. No I bought a new Dura Ace 7900 rear derailleur on the hub as my old one's spring was worn according to another LBS. The old cable was freyed at the ends and I thought to have it replaced. According to the web 7800 Sti's works fine with the new 7900 rear deralleur it's just the fron derailleur that don't . Later I was phoned by the shop and the mechanic wated to know from me if the new DA 7900 rear derailleur was 11 speed as they could not get the bike to shift right and he was afraid of damaging the shifter. I told him WTF Shimano never brought out an 11 speed groupset and he told me he will get the shimano rep in the next morning and my bike will be sorted at 1pm. Got a call early the next morning at 10 am telling me that they could not get the gears right and I must come and the fetch the bike. When I collected the bike I was told that if I could show proof of purchase for the shifters they could try and warentee it. I told them the groupset was fine when I left it there and I bought it secondhand over 4 years ago so no proof of purchase. Anyways a sad story I have to buy new shifters now and it's a costly thing to do.
  19. I would like to know if it's possible to strip the internal mechanism of a 7800 Sti if you install the cable that goes into the rear derailleur in the wrong gear? Reason for asking is I took my bike to a shop to have a rear cable replaced and when I got it back the bike jockey was skipping up to 3 gears at a time when down shifting. Contacted the shop and was told the shifter was worn and this happens due to wear and tear. So now I have to buy new Sti's not a cheap thing to do I took it to a different shop and according to the mechanic he says that the shop installed the cable in the wrong gear and when the gears was engaged it must have stripped the Sti. I don't want to make accusations against the first shop that did the job ,but can't help to be upset as my bike was shifting fine before I took it in......
  20. 1.89m Road=175 I have a long inseam. When I climb the 175 seems perfect for more leverage ,but when I'm going b@lls to the wall on the flats it seems the slightly longer crank length does not help my cadence.
  21. Uhm no.....
  22. Go Lance congrats!
  23. Yes luckily he is 18 so he will be tried as an adult. If he was still 17 he would have gotten a slap on the wrist and put on some type of BS program....
  24. Tricky question and I'm sure everyone would suggest getting a professional setup done. It depends on a number of things your leg inseam, flexibility etc... That said I'm 1.89 and previously had a 59cm Merida which almost broke my back and caused me to give up cycling completely. I changed the stem from 100mm to 80mm ,but never felt comfortable on the bike. I now ride a cervelo RS(taller headtube) and shorter top tube, and I feel 100% more comfortable ,but must say my saddle to handle bar drop is quite big causing my neck to hurt sometimes after long rides. That's why everyone including myself suggest you get fitted by a professional first and take it from there.
