  1. Got it, that there are differing views. Also, I’m only 20% less inclined to trust the opinion of someone who puts the words “his” and "bokkie” next to one another…. 🤣 vdP apologised, but we can all take comfort that he didn’t go all Aussie...
  2. Nuts right, when I was looking for a BB tool one single manufacturer was making 13 different BB tools.
  3. Hah! Projection will catch you out every time…. Enjoy your edibles. 😂
  4. Yeah, I’m no angel. Just ask the ex in-laws (out-laws now, I guess) on the other side of the Swartberg Mountain from you. I’ve never been one to excuse tantrums or rage though, like certain tennis players smashing rackets or Owen Farrell angrily tossing his 2019 WC silver medal to the ground. I have to add that some of my fave cycling adventures have been in your kontrei. Number 1 is cycling solo to camp in the snow on the Swartberg peak on what turned out to be a cloudless, full-moon night. Absolutely luuuurve your region.
  5. Of course bruh. Be sure to make that clear the next time you rage at someone else’s kid in your budgie smugglers... 🤣🤣😇 I do know what you're getting at, my son was sent back to live with me in PE from CT when he got out of hand. Just needed some calm guidance away from an angry situation. Worked a treat, he’s an exceptional young tech developing pro and a properly considerate mensch.
  6. Can’t help being reminded of being woken from my nap by the sound of my then-7-year-old son running past me on the suspended wooden floor on a Saturday afternoon. I was renovating the home. “Josh! Where’re you running with that hammer?” “Don’t worry dad, I’m going to fix the TV.” 🤣
  7. Yeah, no excuse for an angry physical response with someone’s kid bruh. As for sleep deprived and pressured situations, we’ve been through several with former colleagues and I working up to 68 hours non-stop (edit: full steam, not relay, no breaks for anyone) on extreme medical rescues (including a loaded bus in a river at the bottom of a mountain gorge) on coffee and energy drinks. And long hours on this: https://www.bowmanslaw.com/insights/shipping-aviation-and-logistics/greatest-maritime-rescue-ever/ No-one in our teams ever thought that stress or sleep deprivation was an excuse for being unprofessional. Just saying. I’m not surprised that MvdP was apologetic for being the angry oom in an onderbroek.
  8. You think sleep deprivation and stress qualifies you to "grab one by the arm” or angrily shove any child? Come on mate, we'd want to do better. MvdP shouldn’t have been...
  9. Mostdef. A stranger uncle in his onderbroek has no right to angrily shove your or my pranking kids.
  10. After seeing that video and those photos, vast overreaction by those comment voters and also by MvdP. Mates and I got away with similar and other mischiefs as teens in the 1970’s, as did many more “laaities” on bikehub. MvdP reacted way OTT, as he has admitted and for which he has apologised. Imagine a stranger oom being that enraged, and coming at you so menacingly that he shoves you into the carpet/wall, in his onderbroek nogal. For a prank… Can’t be right, I can’t imagine that many hubbers would approve that reaction to their children. - an admirer of MvdP’s pro exploits
  11. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=fox+34+stickers&_sacat=0 Another option that I did after giving a frame the raw finish treatment earlier this year was to PDF logos off the internet and get holographic decals cut at my local print shop. They had the vinyl sheets and it cost just R184 for two sets of transfer decals.
  12. Despite the denials of Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja and musician Goldie (who accidentally name dropped "Robert" in a conversation regarding Banksy), I still strongly suspect that Del Naja is Banksy. His visual art history and the time and place confluence of a few Massive Attack performances and the appearance of Banksy pieces is telling imo. Part of a seminally beautiful post-divorce era was travelling with new friends to see Massive Attack live at the 3 Arts in CT.
  13. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ethan-nwaneri-generation-teen-stars-28032079 The UK has, and has developed, many truly brilliant footballers for many decades. If only the same could be said about their referees. Why the heck does the FA insist on only having a middle-aged white men demographic as refs when they make so many atrocious decisions? Surely it would be far better to develop and select the best match officials. - a middle-aged white man
  14. A 15 year old kid came off the bench to make his debut for a top-of-the-league, in the toughest league on the planet, team today. WTactualF!!! Astonishing.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think this ⬆️ little oke could be the winner winner chicken dinner. I’ve used this light for several single-night adventures for almost two years now and it suits my needs perfectly. I use the lowest light setting and haven’t tried charging on the go yet. It has scrapes from a descent tumble onto rocks and still works perfectly well. Recharge cable is about 40cm.
  16. Exceptional styling and frame and component choices IMO. I’ve found myself returning to this gorgeous build for days… Can’t wait to read of your adventures and how it performs.
  17. Absolutely disgraceful. This scamster is as low as a ...
  18. “42% of the 110,000 spectators expected every day have said they now plan to use a bicycle, or to a lesser extent motorized scooters, to come here”, Grand Prix organiser Rob Langenberg said. https://www.reuters.com/article/motor-f1-zandvoort-bicycles-idUSL2N2NP16A Luuurve cycling almost wherever I go in recent years. The beautiful (and quick) old cars get a ride about once a week nowadays and otherwise remain on smart chargers.
  19. Yessir, solution. We did this with a few other families, taking a turn every four weeks to collect and deliver to each fam. Just 8k’s to the farm and most worthwhile with three rapidly growing kids.

  21. I’ve used the same technique with a Shimano 10 speed cassette and chain. I thought I’d be minimising risk by working gently and carefully ensuring first-time pin alignment. It’s lasted 4 800 or so km, with regular drivetrain light rinse and wiping and drying and lubing, including regularly lugging this almost 100kg body up and down steep coastal paths and the Lady Slipper Mountain and into and out of Baakens Valley.
  22. This was my first choice for a new-for-me HT after a fifteen minute ride at a bike park on a friendly gent's L Slade Trail. I spent half a year frequently checking many online sites for an XL, but alas… Great choice!
