  1. Big volume! 2,2"
  2. There is your answer! You can use the Ikon on the front as well! Otherwise If you can get a Maxxis Aspen, try that. But the Ikon has Exo protection, very strong and light enough!
  3. I think Cannondale puts the Arch's on because of their no rider weight limit. Flash Carbon 1 29er still comes in at 9,8kg with cages and pedals which is still pretty light!
  4. Scott Aspect 10, she wanted a bike that looks good, I had my minimum specs. (air shock, decent disk brakes, 3x10 gears, hollowtech 2 crank) R7500 brand new. She loves it! http://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/products/221750008/bike-aspect-10-l/
  5. IMHO spokes are under rated. I've got DT Swiss competition with my ZTR Crest and Hope Evo. Also more on the 1,7kg but strong!
  6. Ride is on tonight!
  7. CrossMark is a great back tyre, riding it at the front is not recommended. Also Crossmark is LUST ie full tubeless and heavy, 835grams per tyres. When you buy the Ikon it has to be a Exo Protection (stronger). It weighs 580grams per tyre and is strong enough. Great weight/strength/price combo. Never heard someone having problems with them. Can be run front and back, or at the back with an Aspen Exception at the front. CWC had the Ikon Exo for R550, don't know if they have stock.
  8. Maxxis Ikon exception exo protection. You'll thank me later. Race King protection's sidewalls is weak, my brother has it and after 10 rides the tread is showing. Not cool
  9. Sunlight liguid!!!
  10. No need to cut - take a flat small screwdriver and work it in between. rather scratch your 'bar than grips, lift it a bit and spray Windolene in, do this both side and it just twist off
  11. not Ezi, Its the Ryder knock-offs R100 a set, last just as long as Ezi, but only in white, grey and black, no funky colours to pimp your bike http://www.obike.co.za/Products/ProductsB.aspx
  12. Here's a pic for you
  13. Rapide Evolution 29er is very nice @ R7600, got very good service from Wayne. 2 year warranty. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/25708-rapide-evolution29-carbon-29er-hardtail/
  14. 29er is 680mm pretty much standard, my gf got a new Scott 26" with 640mm(stock standard) and she loves the handling. The wider the better
  15. With that budget I will build! Much more fun and you get what you want.
  16. About 1650g according to the website. Wayne gives very good service, even no problems with a warranty claim.
  17. way to wet outside, still raininig - canceled
  18. I loved my X9 gripshifts + X9 FD & RD. No problems for more than a year, even bought it second hand. Currently have 2012 XT. No issues yet since November 2011. What I like about XT and XTR is that it has no "deadshift", much like X0 and XX. SLX and X9 has basicly the same feeling to me. My Brothers XX is a bit moertoe after a year and a half. IMHO X0 and XX gripshifts are gonna be super. Just my 2c
  19. I just replace mine once a year as good measure, R100 or less for 2m housing and 2gear cables. No funny business. I don't oil my cables, seems like the biggest mistake I made before.
  20. Let's see guys, hopefully it will clear up. Will decide at about 15h if ride is on or not, weather depending
  21. Absolutely! I have a basic 3-in-1 Russell Hobbs, filter coffee + espresso and steamer. Want to get a bigger machine inc grinder in the future, but not automatic.
  22. Don't think it will matter, but leave the cadence for the roadbikes imho
  23. Yeah come join, even if we split up its ok. Its just important to be 2 or more people together, riding alone in the dark is a bit dodgy. Nightrides are usually a bit slower than those in day.
  24. Nightride cancelled for tonight - see next week
