  1. I visit Red Barn and Wolwespruit frequently. Both very safe. Both trails in great condition. Neither really have any mud at the moment but that can change in a day.
  2. Looks like a Taisheng High-Tech Materials frame to me: http://www.tsc-bike.com/products/show.php?id=20 If so it was probably sold by KEAN or similar in SA if I had to guess.
  3. I have to agree with Theo here. My MTB suffers when I take it out on the trails. Riding it on a trainer would be like a walk in the park for the bike.
  4. I recently bought a Lazer Coyote. I think it sits well "over" the head.
  5. I think I will have to take it off your hands and use it as my primary machine. My 140mm Manitou 34 with red decals should go perfectly with it. 🤩
  6. I have used Sellotape Auto Trim Repair tape in the past when I had to put a vehicle's emblem back on. My mother-in-law now drives the car and the emblem is still perfectly attached around 8 years later.
  7. Kings Kloof will give you some serious climbing training but does get quite technical.
  8. I have ordered from them twice and in both cases I had the same experience. Top notch service!
  9. A bit of an off-topic but my name is Rolf. Simple one would think. I mean it only has one vowel in it, no real way to get it wrong, right? I have been and am still being called Roelf, Ralph, Roedolph and Rolfe way more times than my actual name and often by people who have known me for years. I am at a point where it does not bother me in the least. I used to correct people but now I go by whatever they want to call me 🤣 Peace out Brêndan!
  10. That bike has clearly not had an easy life.
  11. Can I ask if you have washed/cleaned the helmet?
  12. It needs a set of gum grips but aside from that it is potentially the most beautiful MTB in existence.
  13. I understand. This is also how I know the fixes don't work. 😁
  14. I gave up on the fixes. There are too many friction areas in the design.
  15. I replaced the RevoShift on my sons bike with a Sunrace 7 Speed shiter. Was R210 if I recall. You can buy a MicroShift from Decathlon for R170 - https://www.decathlon.co.za/transmission/311712-11045-7-speed-derailleur-shifter.html?utm_source=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.decathlon.co.za%2F&utm_medium=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.decathlon.co.za%2F&utm_campaign=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.decathlon.co.za%2F&sfdr_ptcid=35079_617_671137679&sfdr_hash=1fd9418eef4fcbe91bc74121f255b46c&gclid=CjwKCAiA6Y2QBhAtEiwAGHybPXT03pn7kae8wcTn2htjE3P8pToA7okYIl4US9DGdgPMdq2UxqSpLhoCE0YQAvD_BwE#/9274-demodelundefined-8555779/155-demodelsize-254no_size
  16. My wife used it for about 15 seconds before I went to buy a trainer tyre. The noise is insane.
  17. Don't know about the others but Hakahana closed some time ago.
  18. I could not disagree more on buying 2nd hand.
  19. Yep, Iron Throne is the only one that comes to mind.
  20. I use their bladder only in my own backpack. Works great and for R200 you really cannot go wrong. https://www.decathlon.co.za/sport-trail-mtb-water-bag-adult/184912-2852-2l-hydration-bladder.html#/demodelundefined-8399482/demodelsize-254no_size?queryID=79faf61e4a567946920462d85cab0c9e&objectID=2365645
  21. So many of the kids bikes come with the Shimano Gripshift. I cannot even change the damn gears easily with those. I think there was an oversupply of these as no adults wanted them on their bikes anymore. This is the 26" that I built for my youngest - XS Pacific GTR frame. The Reba fork, American Classic Wheels and Avid brakes are my old components.
  22. My sons are both of relative small stature but around average height. My 12yo has a Small 26" My 9yo has a XS 26" but ladies frame as the step-over height is a bit of an issue on most older 26" frames with dated geometry. When my 9yo had a 24" he struggled keeping up but since I built him the 26" he has no problem. I have found that on most of the 24" bikes, my son had a Titan Hades 24D, the parts weigh just shy of a metric tonne. His new, much larger bike is much lighter as the frame is lighter and I could fit a much nicer(ligter) fork and wheels.
