  1. That is hectic! Get well soon. I hit my head damn hard on a tree stump overhanging the trail at Northern Farms over the weekend and I do not even want to imagine what would have happened if it was a piece of barbed wire!
  2. Did Nothern Farms today. A couple of muddy patches that can be avoided but the rest was great.
  3. Well that would then be very possible 😁 I have no idea what you look like so we might never know for sure...
  4. I must say Wolwespruit drains surprisingly well for the amount of shade. I might have seen you there before - I visit quite regularly. Cowhouse and Rosemary I have both done in the wet and in future will avoid at all cost. The Aloe & Thorns section at Rosemary becomes totally unrideable.
  5. Apologies, I realise now it is probably a 26er? https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/mountain-bike-forks/521853/suntour-26-xcm-fork
  6. Here you go: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/mountain-bike-forks/525481/mtb-29er-fork
  7. Different bike but my Cannondale Rush came with either Lefty or "regular" fork depending on the spec level. I assume the Lefty would have been the top spec. To me my bike definately looks better with a regular fork than the Lefty ones I have seen 🙂 I
  8. I often support PJC Sport. They are a few blocks from my house and are always willing to help where they can. For more specialized stuff I visit Epic Sports, they got me a derailleur hanger for my 2008 Cannondale within 3 days.
  9. Commencal will have a few that fits the bill but they will be 26" for juniors. Something like this will be perfect but it runs 26" wheels, is expensive and I see most will only be available in a couple of months time - https://www.commencal-store.co.za/commencal-clash-jr-2022-c2x36191145
  10. I am in need of a complete 29er front wheel, preferably with tyre but without is perfectly good. Most that are for sale are for compete sets of wheels. I only need the front as it is for my mullet setup - 15mm TA Boost to fit my Manitou Magnum 34 fork. I currently have a 27.5x2.1 on the back and 27.5+x3.0 on the front but the fork can take a 29" wheel up to 2.6. The plus size works great but for any kind of distance the extra weight and rolling resistance is killing me. Willing to pay of course but I cannot fork out R3k+ for a wheel so looking for something 2nd hand that won't break the bank.
  11. I did the same when my son had a 24" Hades. Just for reference the 24" Hades does not have a replaceable cassette but rather a cluster/freewheel so.
  12. If someone pays for my fuel to drive down I would love to do this one. 😁
  13. Indeed. I saw it coming before it happened though. People start off with a fitness journey with a bang with the start of every year. How far did you guys ride? I did route 2 but you seemed to finish long before me. Only 2 older gents passed me at a frightening pace.
  14. Manitou Magnum Comp 34 34mm Stanchions for 27+/29 wheel size but in this instance I believe it is to distinguish it from the original Manitou Magnum that was a 26" fork.
  15. Saw you at Red Barn today. We were just about to start our ride. Was soupy...
  16. Exactly. My bike was originally a narrow bar, long stem, 80mm travel, XC 26er. Now it is a wide bar, short stem, 140mm travel, 650b+ front and 650b rear bike for the mentally unstable. Suits me perfectly.
  17. Agreed on the pricing. If I still had small kids they would have had to stay home for that price.
  18. Yep. My 27.5+ does not fit in the brackets but I can still hang it from the rear wheel. More of a mission but still works.
  19. The size will be fine. You are on the border so should be fine. I am 1.76 and have a large and a medium. On straight, flat track I prefer the large but for everything else I prefer the medium.
