  1. If you like long haul routes then Wolwespruit is definately not for you. It has techy, flow and jump trails but not much distance. Northern Farms has decent distance routes and is not far from Pretoria. Not very technical. Avianto also has some decent distances that you should enjoy. Kingskloof in Muldersdrift has a mixture of technical and flat sections. The red and black routes has some significantly challenging climbs and a fantastic decent around the koppie. Big Red Barn has a mix with the longest trail being just over 40km. Buffelsdrift I can recommend as well. The one side of the farm has flatter longer distance routes and the other side is more hilly. I think the Kudu route is the one that starts with a hectic climb that seems to go on forever. Some technical bits but not too challenging. Hennops is probably my favourite. Only about 35km in total if you do the entire route but a very good workout.
  2. What type of issues have you experienced with the Level T? My son has older Shimano brakes on his bike and they are very powerful but there is no modulation to speak of. They are either on or off. I forgot to mention that I have 180mm rotors front and back and don't have the standard Level T caliper on the front as mine comes from a Levo so has same caliper as the Guide I believe.
  3. I only have 3 fingers on my right hand and 4 on my left so I cannot ever use more than one finger to brake. I am not a big guy though so that definitely helps.
  4. I have SRAM Level T on my bike and I very much like them. They have great modulation. Perhaps I just don't ride fast enough.
  5. I have been using both Enduroseal and Sportsman's Warehouse Sealant - they have one that is supposed to be for specifically for tubes. I used this in my sons' BMXes as well as their and my wife's MTB. My wife and my kids have done quite a few trails and also did Sondela Trail seeker that had MANY serious thorns without issue. At some point my wife's bike developed a leak when I removed a massive thorn but a little top-up with Enduroseal sorted it out. Both worked equally well so far. The only reason I used the Sportsman's one was that I was out of Enduroseal and I picked the cheapest one at the time.
  6. Unfortunately that is a little hard for me to say as my riding is not very well scheduled and I have not yet done a specific test to check. I will do a test over the weekend and let you know.
  7. Agreed. If they are cheapies it will cost more to have them serviced than to buy new bikes. A few years ago I fixed up and repainted a little 12" bike that I got for free. Even doing everything myself it ended up costing more than a new one.
  8. But if you use the GPS and heartrate monitor you have to charge it every 2 days.
  9. Well it seems there was a recent update. Huawei Health does sync to Strava now.
  10. Valid point. Huawei Health can not connect to Strava without an additional software tool that has to be purchased.
  11. I have had my Huawei GT2e for close on two years now and I love it. Battery lasts around 2 weeks and I can play music from it on my Bluetooth headphones while riding. This works well for me as I usually don't carry my phone while riding. It really is an amazing watch for the money. Currently R2 499 from Huawei and this includes a Huawei Smart Scale - https://consumer.huawei.com/za/wearables/watch-gt-2e/buy/
  12. I was going to get a LWB Transporter but could not find one that suited my very limited budget. I needed something that could EASILY take four bikes and also have enough seating room for the family. I had a look at the LWB Caddy but even then fitting 4 bikes easily and have the extra row of seats is not possible without a hell of a lot of faffing.
  13. I could not deal with the clip on carrier so I bought a bakkie for this purpose. I kid you not...
  14. No not to the Bones 3EX. The problem is the spacing between the bikes, not the design. FOr obvious reasons it cannot be made "longer" and herein lies the problem.
  15. That looks the business but when it states 3 bikes it actually means 2. I have fitted 3 bikes to a hang-on rack on my BMW and on my wife's Mini and it is a nightmare to ensure nothing gets damaged once you start moving. You have to add 40 minutes to your morning just to load 3 bikes safely. For the occasional rider, loading max two bikes I think it works but if you will be using it frequently it is a major hassle.
  16. Are you OK? Red Barn? I was at Wolwespruit this morning. What a blast!
  17. I think the point is with some of the others the small bottle is reused so you do not dispose of it at all in the short term. The pouch cannot be re-used. Muc-Off have pouches with concentrated cleaner. You buy the large bottle once and then instead of buying and disposing of the large bottle each time you refill it with a pouch and then dispose of the pouch. I do think though that most people buy the small bottles and then afterwards chuck them in the bin. For these people the pouch makes perfect sense as a "greener" alternative.
  18. Contact Evobikes. The cheaper ones are usually only available in a complete headset assembly so you would probably have to buy the complete one. For the bottom cup that I wanted for my Cannondale the Hope one was R900 for only the cup, excluding race or bearing.
  19. I have a Chaoyang Hornet 27.5 2.1 on the back. I don't find it very grippy. The problem with my comparison is that my previous tyre/wheel on the same bike was a 26 2.25 Maxxis Crossmark II so there would have been quite a difference in feel even if tyre make and model were the same.
  20. I doubt he will find any worth-while 29er for R7k. He would probably only start finding a decent 29er at around R10k-R12k.
  21. Reminds me of the wooden parrot story. Glad you got it sorted.
  22. This is not even funny. My MTB tyres cost the same as my motorcycle tyres.
  23. I was not guessing about the manufacturer. The manufacturer I noted confirmed that it is their frame. They are a factory though so their bikes are sold and branded by distributors worldwide.
