  1. Probably referring to 29+ I run a 27.5+ upfront - Specialized Purgatory 27.5 x 3.0. Sure looks like a fat bike compared to a 2.4 and sounds like a TIE fighter on tarmac. 😁
  2. I am building my sons 24" parts onto a 26" frame. I have donated my super light American Classic wheels and RockShox Reba and I believe his bike will be awesome. I installed some well used Formula R1 brakes for him some time ago but now the brake lines are too short for the new frame. I can make the rear brake line work for the front brake but need a new(or used) brake line for the rear brake. I only paid R500 for the set of used brakes and cannot imagine paying R700 for a new rear brake line. Anyone have something more affordable available? A used brake line will be fine.
  3. I always forget some of my fingers but never an entire hand.
  4. Yesterday's ride at Cradle Moon. Plenty of mud but lots of fun.
  5. I walked back 11km after a crash at Van Galen's and almost died of the heat at Sondela - can't wait for next year!
  6. THanks. I have seen that one so many times. The rear wheel in that set is buckled. I specifically need to rear wheel. If I have to have it rebuilt is is going to probably add another R800 to the cost.
  7. I am looking for a non-boost QR 27.5 rear wheel for my MTB. I am looking to buy one but need something affordable.
  8. The condition and life left in the drivetrain would probably determine that. If there is not much in it, takes the one that looks the best to you. You are going to be riding it.
  9. The fork on the Specialized looks like Suntour coil fork. The fork on the GT is also a Suntour but looks like an Suntour XCR Air as I can see the rebound adjuster on the bottom of the right lower leg
  10. If the prices are similar, take the one with the best fork and secondly the best groupset.
  11. She looked like a bit of a bad-ass. She was my favourite.
  12. They changed their times to 07:00 in Summer, same as Winter.
  13. Yes I know. Was not sure what would qualify it as South African. It was started here? The head office is here? It is manufactured here? I am sure bikes like Momsen and Avalanche are not manufactured in South Africa anymore?
  14. I am planning on going to Wolwespruit this afternoon. I am planning on being there at 16:30. If anyone is keen on joining me please let me know. I don't take things too seriously and just try and have fun.
  15. From all those I would also go for the Silverback. In terms of spec it is in a different league than the others. The Scott looks nice because it is new but it is a pretty basic MTB. I bought a new bike last year for a bit under R7k. Around 2 months later I bought a much better used bike for R5k. I now exclusively ride the used bike and passed the bike I bought new on to my wife who mostly uses it on an indoor trainer. I have spent quite a bit of money on the bike over the last couple of months upgrading it and changing it to suit my needs but the starting point was much better than the bike I bought new.
  16. Unless you have OCD and struggle with the asymmetrical frame design.
  17. Wish I was in Cape Town so I could do it. Did the 40km at the Sondela Trailseeker this past weekend. In some places of the trail >40 degrees was measured. The heat was intense and there was no relief because shade does not exist there.
  18. I am looking for a Non-Boost QR 650B rear wheel that I would like to try and fit to my Cannondale Rush 26". I posted an advert several weeks back but have not had any response yet.
