  1. That was my understanding as well. Longer offset = shorter trail = faster handling.
  2. The slacker HA and 20mm extra travel will be more noticeable indeed.
  3. The Stumpy is 67.5deg with 51mm offset. 130mm travel. The Druid is 66deg with 44mm offset. 150mm travel. 1.5deg is quite a lot and pushing another 7mm on the offset adds up. I can try and draw this out on paper and calculate the trail.
  4. Thanks. Went through this whole process when I built my Evil and now it is that time again with the Forbidden. On paper it appears that 44mm is what is right according to the manufacturer. In my wallet the existing 51mm offset fork is the one that makes sense. Budget doesn't allow for a new fork right now.
  5. Thank you. My understanding is that the 44mm offset increases the trail and makes for a more stable platform in theory. I can't fathom how Joe Average will notice this.
  6. So... my fiance is upgrading from a Stumpjumper ST to a Forbidden Druid and I believe the Stumpy is a 51mm offset while the Druid is a 44mm. We are building the parts from the Stumpy across and my only concern is the fork now. Currently it is at 130mm and will be changed to 150mm which is what the frame needs. But now this offset thing. I understand it changes the handling but a lot of research suggests that it doesn't make that much of a difference. Anyone with real world experience? Will a 51mm offset fork ruin the experience on a frame designed for a 44mm fork?
  7. Warning about the Evoc hip packs. The hose retention system is flawed and keeps coming loose. The waist belt itself is also a pain to adjust. Great storage space though and looks awesome.
  8. Still use my (now ancient) Dakine 3l pack for bike days out or rides where I take my Canon with 70-200 lens with for some riding photos. It is normally stuffed with snacks, spares, and pads strapped to it. For 30km or less a Camelbak Repack 1.5l with a OneUp pump, some spares, and a chocolate bar does the trick. Surprising amount of space in this guy. Fidlock 500ml helps if I know its hot and i’ll take some electrolytes in there Short rides I have a 500ml Fidlock bottle with water. Hydration packs do get hot and sweaty on your back but they stay in place when the trail gets rough and wheels leave the ground often. Hip packs are cooler but do need adjusting as the bladder empties. They bounce on rough trails a little but you get used to it.
  9. Some of the most stupid ive come across are the ones at Wolwespruit. Would it hurt to make the green a blue stand out a bit more. Only my fourth time there this morning and I got lost again ending up on the walking trails with some very irate hikers.
  10. Look up Post Box Courier. Ship it to them and they will bring it in to your door.
  11. Buffels overall has the best trail markings out of any trail Ive ever ridden.
  12. Phone Cyclotech Cycles and speak to Hannes. I know they do group rides from Northridge Mall.
  13. Did you speak to Hannes?
  14. Sure it isn’t your hip 🤫
  15. Have you tried North Face or Lowepro?
  16. woooof that is ruffff R5k buys a lot of other bags that do the job just as well.
  17. This! Mark the trails with a small sign on trail splits etc and use Trailforks for everything else. Key is that Trailsforks be updated by riders to show closed trails.
  18. Have you paired the OneUp grips with the bar yet? Even more chatter reduction.
  19. But but but but, new is always better. - Barney Stinson
  20. 760mm was fine on the old bike. Great bars from Nukeproof as well. Warhead bar paired with a 50mm warhead stem. When I built the new bike I wanted to murder out all the components. Black on black for everything and the OneUp has no branding while the Nukeproof was quite flashy. I also loved 800mm bars the second i put my hands on them.
  21. Went from Nukeproof 31.8mm to OneUp 35mm. Same 20mm rise but up from 760mm to 800mm The OneUp is noticeably stiffer and it took a while to get used to them. Actually ended up tweaking my compression damper on the fork a tiny bit to help. Mayne I had my fork set wrong to begin with but from research all 35mm carbon bars are stiff. The OneUp just the least I’m super happy now. Excellent feeling bars with the perfect up and back sweep.
  22. Bought my first Csixx product in 2012 I think. Had nothing but excellent service from Mark right from the start. Definitely a local company I will always support.
  23. I think I saw the road going through there. Didn't want to plough a field and get shot in the process. We flatted at 18km and hiked 2km back to the car with our tails between our legs.
  24. How much was it with shipping?
  25. Ah man... this breaks my heart.
