  1. NF will be good training but if you want some hill training I would definitely recommend the 50km technical trail at Buffelsdrift. You can also work your way up to their 80km for proper Sani training.
  2. Chain line and b-gap is the two most important things when setting up 12spd. Lots of tears when those two are out.
  3. @pedal menace happy to take your round Red Barn. Distance from 20km to 40km. @Rolf Hansen would be cool to ride with you too.
  4. I share your frustrations. Always one noise or a slightly missed shift. Never mind how well everything is running it just isn’t going to be perfect all the time.
  5. If the number matches…. Where there is smoke, you go look for the fire.
  6. Had Shimano XT/XTR…. now on SRAM GX. Finally happy.
  7. From the IDT to the bedroom. Noted.
  8. Can give you an honest review of Red Barn. There every weekend. It is a big party trail. Think of it as a big BMX track. Can get quite muddy in places but ongoing trail maintenance ensure that routes are diverted around the mud. Trails are well maintained and the trail team is very responsive to issues recorded on the trails. Currently very dry with one or two spots with mud. Absolute blast but not for everyone.
  9. What makes it indoor other than the marketing?
  10. Hopefully I have time to build this weekend. Work is hectic and I still need to get the headset pressed in and the rear brake hose replaced. Hope the hose is long enough because then it is just a bleed needed.
  11. And this why I'm very comfortable owning the Tickr and Kickr. The service from Ikhambi has always been stellar.
  12. Now that it finally made it's way to South Africa after a massive hunt taking 2 months. The latest addition to the Steady Spin household. Photo stolen from Pink Bike but I'll post some proper photos when the build is done. I'm seriously jealous here. Going to be a really sweet bike for my fiancé.
  13. I’m on my third Kickr and second HRM. They seem to be lasting this time round. Definitely looking at Garmin for my GPS needs.
  14. Sorry for your loss friend. Hopefully insurance can get you out on two wheels fast.
  15. Centurion getting hit very at the moment. I know of multiple break-ins in the past month or so and bikes stolen. I assume nothing else taken?
  16. Stretching and yoga is always a win
  17. Built in kick stand on both sides. Very cool bike.
  18. Great deal at Easybike? https://www.easybike.co.za/garmin-edge-130-plus.html?utm_source=www.google.co.za&utm_medium=Google+Referral&utm_campaign=Google+CPC&sfdr_ptcid=40513_617_654969312&sfdr_hash=6c0fe29e1b03397b427bacae62840708
  19. Only ones available for Evil in SA is the Burgtec kits and they are only the 10 delta link bolts. Those are the least likely to break since you never really touch them. I bought from Huk-Tek I stripped a trunnion bolt when I removed the shock to have it serviced. It was torqued to spec and installed correctly. The standard bolts are hollow aluminum...
  20. I opened the package to inspect and it looks like they cut this in-house with a blunt blade. The quality of the film is also suspect to me. Hoping it turns out ok. I really don't want to apply this again once the bike is built.
  21. 69er is reserved for..... anyhoo Personally I would leave it as the good bike lord intended. 26er all round with no changes in geometry. Especially for a new rider. Maybe I'm a purist.
  22. Sitting with a kit from Armour Ride waiting to go onto a very very special frame that is somewhere on a plane from the UK. Hope the application process isn't a ball ache like the service from them. Is there perhaps a local installer in Midrand / Centurion that will do this or do I take the gamble and do it myself? I also bought a basic version of theirs from Cycle Lab that I guess I could practice with on my frame before attempting the install on the lady's frame.
  23. Full Ti Delta Link, Trunnion and Lower Shock Bolts, Front Pivot Bolts from Huk Tek This was not a cheap exercise but rather a necessary Evil to replace what can only be described as bolts made of cheese.
