  1. Threaded BB though.
  2. Didn’t feel like creating a new thread Same problem. Started on Monday. Couple of muddy rides and a couple of bike washes and now I have a click I cant find. It appears at random. Click on right and left of bike can be heard from the BB area. Normally about 10km into a ride If I pedal backwards and then continue pedaling or stop and start again the noise is gone. I can feel the click through my feet. What I’ve done so far - new bb (threaded) - rear hub bearings replaced - pedals serviced (flats) - new chainring - new chain - freehub / prawl service carried out - cassette removed, cleaned, and reinstalled with thin layer of grease Next to check would be seat and seatpost but I doubt I would feel it in the pedals. Will swop out pedals for my next ride to narrow it down even further. I have had creaking in the left pedal a few times and a regrease of the axle takes it away for a while. Help!
  3. This works extremely well. About 5000km on the Sunrace cassette and 3000 on the XTR derailleur. Shifting like butter and no skipping under hard pushes. Even sorted out that one gear that I could never get 100% quiet. XX1 chain and GX chainring
  4. Ill post a thread.
  5. The annual maintenance that grinds my gears. Hope to see 5000km+ on this chain.
  6. I’ll organise a group buy in Jan. Need a new freehub body first.
  7. Wish I knew about this
  8. OEM vs retail packaging? I have some XTR chains here that came in only plastic packets. No branded packaging Where did you order from?
  9. Agree. The “I hate strava but I have to tell someone” crowd For me it is an extremely valuable training tool.
  10. I enjoy stats. Strava just combined it all into a single fun report. Nothing wrong with that. I’m 200km short of my 3000km goal for the year and 10 days in which to do it. Considering my level of fitness… this is going to be a huge task.
  11. I’d stay away from any outfit that doesn’t keep stock.
  12. Bike theft is rampant in Holland. That one caught me off guard.
  13. Not at all. I carry a bit or weight in the boep area and pack has a pump, tools, car keys, 1.5l of water and my phone in it. It sits well on my lower back and moves less than what my full pack did.
  14. I've been using the Repack for just over a year now. Plenty of space. Great buy with the excellent Camelbak bladder and valve. Evoc is nice but just too big so sit comfortably. The bladder and valve is good but the magnet system they use to hold the hose is utter ****. Almost lost it twice now and causes the hose to come loose in rough terrain.
  15. Still through my broker under my household cover. Full comprehensive cover. Bike worth R180k insured for around R450 a month for both.
  16. Get him a preloaded debit card. Tape it to his existing bike and wrap the whole bike up. That is a present! He can buy new, or upgrade his existing bike
  17. I’m 1.79 and I’m on a large. I’ve owned mediums before that worked but I prefer the longer reach on a large. Feels more stable.
  18. Tranquilitas and Mankele come to mind. Well worth the extra hour drive.
  19. Been doing it for years. Half the price of MTB ones and almost exactly the same thing. Jerseys are never for projection from falls so the fabric is pretty much the same. I even have ones with dedicated ventilation areas and they all lightweight. I ride with long sleeves in summer as well to keep the old tattoos from getting sun damage.
  20. Are the bars upside down?
  21. https://trailtechcycles.co.za/products/oneup-edc-tool-lite-coming-soon One option. Other one is the threadless carrier and tool Bit more expensive though. Back to the EDC stem… i had to use a ratchet strap to preload the headset so I could center the stem perfectly. It is a two person job otherwise.
  22. Stay far far far far away from the EDC stem u less you feel like fiddling with a headset before during and after a ride. OneUp discontinued the concept as well. Huge waste of money on my end and I ended up threading my steerer. The stem isnt the problem. The clamp concept is. Trailtech Cycles do OneUp but any stem will work with the tool.
  23. They like a firm grip
  24. I haven’t found a grip as good as the Evil Pamela Handersons. Wears well and fits my paws perfectly. OneUp grips are a close second but only has the lockjaws on one side.
  25. I wood not have thought of that.
