I bought myself a RavX retractable lock, it has a thin cable like a break/gear cable. I loop it around my bike rack and put the combination end inside the boot and close it. Then I lock the bikes to the rack. Not thief proof but at least it is locked. Also great for while the car is parked just with the rack on while busy with a race http://www.ravx.com/products/locks/combo_x_pocket.html

Silverback website gets updated with 2012 models tomorrow. I am quite interested to see the spec on the new Spectra, there are 3 different models of it (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0). Also interested to see what 29ers they will offer. We will probably have to wait for the 1st October SA launch for RRP though

I have a Thule "strap on" :lol: Doesn't seem to damage the car. It is not made for cars with boot spoilers but so far I have used it on 3 cars with boot spoilers.

Does anyone have experience with the new style strap?

I will test it in the morning. The replacement came from Garmin Europe as my Garmin was bought in the UK. I would have been sceptical that a new strap would solve the problem but the fact that they have changed the design makes me think it must be an improved model Here is a pic of the old Garmin strap. The replacement must be a very new model because I can't find an image but it is very similar to the Polar one below

Just got my replacement strap for my Garmin, they have changed the design completely, it now looks like the Polar one (that dcrainmaker says works better)

I got a price from them on Rudy Project, R3K compared to the local price of R6K

On their tracking it says they already tried to deliver my package but I was sitting at home and they have not been here. Try fill in their contact form and there is a number they need (not the tracking number) and without this filled in you can't proceed. OK, my mistake here Try find the local UPS so you choose SA from the drop down, you try submit but you can't proceed till you choose a state in the USA. WTF?

They made their own name cheap by selling R600.00 bikes at Game/Makro The proper bikes were pretty decent and good value for money
