  1. Garmin UK sucks big time, I told them to send my replacement HRM strap with a tracking number but they don't listen. They have sent two so far and I have got none. This has been going on since April Here is the cr@p data I have to put up with
  2. It has a Pinarello sticker on it but nowhere on the seller's ad does it claim to be a Pinarello
  3. Seriously bad hair style on this guy
  4. Never buy the optional scale unless you want to visit the "dark side"
  5. I can't see that the Park Tool base could be as steady as the Topeak. I have only used the topeak though and seen photos of the Park Tool
  6. Topeak is awesome, it is aluminium so is very light and does not rust, packs away easy and comes with a bag, has a very steady base and has an optional scale.
  7. Also go to partsource.co.za - free parts locating service
  8. I can't say for all makes of cars but the ones I have inquired about they said no way can a factory tow bar be fitted if it didn't come standard (I can't see the logic but maybe the harnesses are different). The used car guy I am dealing with has given me the option of fitting an aftermarket one and the car is practically new.
  9. Usually aftermarket tow bars are the only option, many car manufacturers do not sell factory tow bars over the counter, you can only buy them as an option with the new car. I have also tried to get used car dealers to fit one from another used car to "sweeten a deal" but they say they are not able to, they usually say the cars have different wiring. Usually car dealerships have approved/preferred fitment centers and have no problem with them fitting stuff like alarms, tow bars and in the old days car phones
  10. OK, that is good, at least they can't be unscrewed. I am buying Thule roof rails with locking knobs so they can't be removed and the bike racks come with locks. Obviously none of this will prevent theft but it will be a deterrent.
  11. Go to partsource.co.za and fill in a request for a tow bar, they contact all their subscribed scrap yards on your behalf and the service is free to you
  12. With mine, I took the bumper off, inside the bumper is a metal bumper that they call a stiffener and that has brackets to fit onto the body. Toss the stiffener and brackets and mount the bumper to the tow bar, the tow bar then has it's own brackets to bolt on the car. The wiring can be a bit tricky if you don't know much about car wiring. If you get a used tow bar from a scrapyard you can probably take it to a fitment center and get it fitted for R650.00, I was going to do that.
  13. Price is good, just the racks to put on my roof rack are R1000.00 each, Thule is a nicer system and easier to load and lock but then I would need R6400.00 for four bikes. Fot the amount I will use my trailer it is not worth it. How are the rails held to the frame? Would I have to drill my roof rack or do they clamp on somehow?
  14. The wiring for your lights already runs to the back. I bought a 2nd hand tow bar for R650.00 and fitted it myself, it just bolts on and then you need to splice the wires.
  15. They are about R3000.00 (Golf Mk1), I also got a quote for an Alfa 156 station wagon, R2400.00 How do you like the bike rack? I am thinking of putting 2 of those on top of my trailer. What holds the bikes to the upright post? Are there straps for the wheels?
  16. I see Thule stuff is 50% cheaper than here at Evans Cycles. Anyone know if it is just the VAT or is there duty too?
  17. He is probably being towed and turning his legs to make it look real. You can do 100km/h down a hill but that is just gravity
  18. What is the biggest front ring? I know you get one tooth bigger than standard (how many does standard have?) Smallest on the back is 11 Tyre size is easy Now we just need someone with some math skills
  19. Maybe it is fake, I am sure there is no ratio available that will have you peddling at 100km/h
  20. A chommie is something only girls have, and it is not what you are thinking
  21. Thanks Good point, it is going so well I didn't realize the anniversary was tomorrow That is over R15000.00 I have spent on my bike instead of smoking
  22. ICE ID band is probably a better option.
  23. 2:17 is my best for 100km but that was a few years back. I will get there again
  24. I like Airborne's idea, a single Topeak holder that goes on the seatpost is R69.00 from Cyclelab - Same thing from Cajees is R99.00 - see what I mean by rip off
  25. Could I ask the bunch to stop and wait?
