  1. No man! Glad they came out alive. Hope the perps get what's coming.
  2. These look really nice. Now by the looks of what people care about here on the hub, the question is, will you de-strict it once you buy it. 😎
  3. Not sure what "racing" is being done here. It's taking part in an event with lots of people, coming in 1st or 350th doesn't matter, they just want to have fun. People want to take part in adventure sporting events and get outside. Racing happens for the analogue chaps at all the "marathon" events and at specific E-bike national and world championships for those on e-bikes. Anyway, the debate about ebikes and chaps not liking it is old. It's not a fad, it's not even the future of mountain biking, it is mountain biking.
  4. There are. Mr D, kauai and some others have. I can def confirm this as one of them almost killed himself when he almost drove into my Van today in Milnerton industrial. If I didn't see him in my left mirror and stopped turning he would have been a gonner. Mad men out in the rain, gunning it full speed on an E-bike he can hardly ride.
  5. I rode SPD's since 1996 until 2016. Changed to flats and have not looked back. But it is a completely different ride.
  6. Agh okay, makes sense now, read WC DH tracks as World Cup not Western Cape. Yeah, Western Cape DH tracks are def tamer than the Plummer.
  7. JH enduro course physically more demanding and technically harder than all the WC DH races, are we talking about Jonkers trails here? Cause I'm confused.
  8. Bicyclecouriers is fantastic!
  9. It’s just an additional option to make it more accessible for beginners. Full race also happening at the same time.
  10. Looks a bit suspicious. Thought I’d share just in case.
  11. I'm using the Mil Spec Mule, and really love it!
  12. Sold all my bikes and kept the e-bike. Burn me at the stake now.
  13. Hi guys. Not sure if this will help with your specific case but I had a random issue of a good condition drivetrain that ran perfectly (GX chain, derailleur and cassette) starting so slip badly after I did a thorough cleaning taking everything off and putting pack. After spending hours at the bike shop trying all sorts of things, we came to the conclusion that I needed a new cassette. Me not wanting to spend R4500 on something that I knew was still pretty much new started doing some more research and eventually found someone else with the same issue. Long story short. Sram Chains are not directional, Shimano chains are directional. BUT Some Quicklinks are also directional. Once I flipped my quick link around gears were back to their perfect self! So just maybe also check if the quick link on the Shimano chain is fitted the right way around.
  14. Hahahahahahahaha. You guys and your E-bike issues. Hahahahahahahahaha.
  15. Great to see a SA made product that's on par with the Ride Shotgun products. I've used the FEVA seat and it worked but it's sooo not elegant. This is well designed, looks great and if my little one was a two years younger I would buy this in a heartbeat. Pricing is right as well, as you cannot compare this to a clunky foam cutout product. It's pretty much a grand a year for you to ride with your little one, that's nothing. Good luck to Doug and team, think this will do well.
  16. The Fox Ranger Pants works really well, and is well priced. They just don't have stock at the moment. https://www.foxracing.co.za/collections/mtb/mens+MTB-Bottom
  17. Yip, she keeps a very special place in my heart.
  18. The Evo is a full on trail bike with really great climbing capabilities. Pretty much the perfect sweet spot for trails and Enduro racing here in SA. The Enduro on the other hand is really a very large beast, made to point down in extremely steep and technical terrain. I was very surprised as to how well it still climbs though, I really loved riding it and it made square hits and braking bumps feel like you are going for a road ride but personally it is just too much bike for 99% of the trails we have here in Cape Town. So no, two very different bikes, each having a dedicated place. Do agree that the models they are bringing in is a bit stupid, most probably a supply issue with covid globally as the SA market is still pretty much just about the racing snakes and their epics.
  19. Stoked you are back home. Hope the perps get what's coming.
  20. **** man. Gad you are okay, could have been much worse I suppose. Kinda makes me not want to ride here at the moment, which is such a shame since it really is one of the most beautiful rides in our country.
  21. Yeah, I used to spend an obscene amount of time riding, probably about +- 15 - 20 hours a week. I would drive out to Jonkers three times a week. My wife loved it as it gave her allot of time to do her own thing as well. However when our little one arrived (she’s now 3.5) it changed allot. I honestly don’t want to spend that much time away from them. Changed to doing hikes and watersport where we can all do it together. I believe it is all seasons in our life, and will probably start riding allot again once she hits the age where dad isn’t cool enough to to hang with or she’s old enough to come riding with. For now, once a week is enough for me.
  22. Is this off an enduro? If so I have one somewhere in a box. Ciao
  23. Looks like officially Broken road is a "both directions" trail (if that is what you are referring to), where Donkey Trail is downhill specific only. Have a look at Trailforks. Maybe confirm with Deon and co.
  24. Fantastic trails, and a very cool race. WhereEnduro started in the WC. This is a lite pop-up version though.
