1. What I really want to know is if you go past the Mercedes dealership on Jan Smuts. I work in that building, so would be easier for parking etc, I'd just join the bunch as it crawls by.
2. Anyone got a garmin route profile for the ride?
3. Anyone keen to do an afternoon ride instead. I'm at work by 6 so mornings are not really doable
4. Are the 40km results correct. Is that really the winners time???
5. the full conti bottle is mine, no idea where it fell out, need to make a plan to keep it in the cage better, thankfully i didn't need it. Would be great to get it back, but no biggy. Sad to see all those other papers etc. I mean its really not that hard to keep those till you get to the end and bin them properly
6. I did have a lot of guys wizz past without letting me know they were there, doesn't really phase me much, but could see it bothered a few of the less experienced around me. Just be polite and let me know your coming on my right, but remember its my race too, if you have to wait a bit sorry for you
7. Seriously hope the weather forcast changes by Sat, currently cold with possible rain later in the day
8.
Just want to know if the race program listed is going to change like the last one.

Trying to figure out what time i need to leave JHB.

9. Interested to clear this up, my time is almost identical on my Garmin to the results, but my mate is out by like 12min Can anyone confirm how the timing works
10. Got 43.18km, using the GPS measure
11. Great race, everything was top notch. Sending us 40km off later was a good idea, hardly any congestion and i was in G batch. Not sure if it will be good for places like Van Gaalens in summer, but i guess each venue will be different depending on how we can all finish. Think they time between race starts can be shortened to try avoid us frying in summer. Big up to the organisers and Tim for a great day
12. I know this has been spoken of before, tried finding the old topic but no luck. http://www.techcentral.co.za/microdots-to-combat-sa-vehicle-theft/30250/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+co%2FUqJF+%28TechCentral%29 Seems it might be worthwhile microdotting our bikes after all. At least we know the cops have the scanners. I know its not gonna solve all the biekjackings, but its a start
13. Awesome project, any idea on a working beta
14. Not sure where to post this, so its going here, seemed most relevant I got this via a group deal, http://www.groupon.co.za/deals/national-deals/groupon-goods/2895427?nlp=&CID=ZA_CRM_1_0_0_24&a=1985 Thought its an interesting idea and one that could spark a lengthy debate. My question is how efective would this actually be in compating thefts/jackings Ok go .....
15. Not sure what road events cost, but the price of some of the MTB events I've looked at probably have a great deal to do with low numbers
16. The only schwable tyre that you can't use tubeless is the performance line
17. Wow, road the spruit for the first time in a long while, there are some serious willows to dodge now, and prey that no-one is coming the oposite direction. What is the avg speed of the wednesday group rides?
18. How do you find this out?
19. I agree with BigBen, the Bontrager strips are definitely the way to go. Beats the Stans strip hands down. When I finally put on proper UST's, not easy to do, lots of effort needed. Found the non-bontrager valve very flaky, always had the feeling i was going to snap it off
20. Wow, at that price I bought Schwalbe UST Racing Ralph/Nobby Nick from easybike
21. Holy cow bells, what a nutter!!!
22. Cycle lab have never impressed me. Very unfriendly, always uninterested to help, like I"m being a bother to them. Also charge an arm and a leg.
23. 4, full zip
24. I'm no expert on the matter, but one thing i do suggest is to get the bontrager rim strips, should be about R200 each if I remember correctly(and if you can find them, Eagle Canyon or Liden Cycles), but they are the shiz, your tires will seat and seal much better and the valves have very little chance of breaking off. The stans strips I had I was always very worried about the valves tearing from the strips( happened to a mate of mine on race day). For good "cheap" tires www.easybike.co.za
25. Got my wife a Raleigh from Linden Cycles, for 8k, pretty good bike for the price, decent components
