The app has not been performing well this week. :- 1.yesterday it reset all points to zero. 2. it would not download smoothie vouchers on wed, yet still deducted the ones I tried to download from my stash. I actually had to pay for 3 smoothies (as the lady behind the counter had already made them), which is akin to buying ice in winter. 3.it does not register polar data 4. this morning it wont allow access to active rewards at all. I their IT nerds are not having a good Friday

Moving things along to a more positive vibe, I read through some random past pages of this thread the other day, and was struck by how lucky we are to have Myles here, our in-house Discovery go-to man, and a fountain of knowledge, who gives of himself selflessly. I think this kind of service needs to be acknowledged. So Myles, thank you for the wellspring.

  5. It's true, I got in a long ride on the Wednesday public holiday - but I Will normally do this on a Sunday, so I should not really need to make any changes.
  6. My week's 2200 points. Regular workouts, but nothing out of the ordinary. As @JCZA said, the target is actually easily attainable- all the incessant moaning is a bit over the top.

  9. I have a Garmin 510, and an old Polar. The polar does not pick up heart rate properly in the pool. Can anyone recommend a "Bottom of the line" device, just for swimming use. Obviously a device that Discovery will recognize for heart rate points.

  11. I think its all very random at the moment. I uploaded 1600 points this week - and I see that I am also still on 500 required. No increase. I was sure I would be upped by 100 points, so was thinking of not uploading any data this week, but I will play nice.
  12. I assume that you are downloading the file from Virtual Training and then manually uploading to GC? It's better to just run your Garmin, assuming you have one. If you don't, then send the workout from Virtual Training to Strava, and then to Tapiriik, then to GC then to Discovery (i have never done this, so maybe someone else can confirm if this would work).
  13. Apply for a re-mark,lol I did a 1 hr IDT ride today. As i am riding tomorrow, I Did not wanna push it for the whole hour, but knew if i slowed down in the second half it would reduce my average hr to below 80%. Meaning a lousy 100 points. Solution: I klapped it for 40 mins, and ended my Garmin workout, and then restarted my Garmin on a fresh workout. Kaching, 300 points. Pathetic and ridiculous that I actually did that. Worse that I am admitting to it. But really stupid that one has to prematurely end recording, or cut a Workout short, to get more points.
  14. Listen to your body, not an online fitness assessment. Careful, you don't overtrain. I admire your commitment and tenacity, but the more we age the more recovery time we need. Your regime seems hectic. No rest days?

  17. Also only got 1500. But, are we not due 3000 points for completing a Discovery "approved" race? Edit: suppose it makes no difference seeing as everyone is maxed out on fitness points.
  18. It's not. I am waiting for the free flights thing to kick in, which they have been flippin quiet about lately. I doubt it will happen before we have all been bumped back to 1200 on the new regime. Myles do you perhaps have any news on this?

  21. So I spent the past hour or so (which I will never get back) reading through today's posts. The central theme of which seems to be have been the unabated grilling of Fandacious for something that he said, which, it transpires, was 100% true. All the conjecture bs about What he could or could not prove at the time is totally irrelevant. What he can prove now is. Oh, Of course he does not have to. Because what he said IS A FACT. Hubber stupidity (or deliberate agenda) reached new lows today.
  22. I know that this has been covered, so sorry Myles: I am on National VA membership. How much of my gym fees can i expect to retrieve when meeting my goals? zero, or that portion which would have applied if i had been on club?
