That was a seriously tough race; rode socially with my mates - but suffered on the climbs at the end. Toilets at the finishwere not usable, disgustingly unsanitary, no paper, wtf?

@NSBB whilst I get the intended pun in the thread heading, may I suggest that you change it to something like : "Impey found innocent - Saids apologise". the phrase "gets off scott free" is traditionally associated with a guilty person who gets off, and evades conviction and punishment. It is not fair to tar Darryl Impey with this brush. And as Tumbles has pointed out, this fiasco has cost him millions in lost income, reputational damage in going from hero to "doper" - and I cannot begin to imagine the anguish that he and his family have gone through. Why Saids delayed the sample results is beyond me, why they had chose to release them just in time to cost him the tdf is totally inexcusable. I hope Darryl sues them and recovers every cent that he lost. F$&@ing beaurocrats play god, they should all be shot.

I have never done this race before, and don't know what to expect, but suspect it will entail no small amount of suffering for me.

But Tacx have shot themselves in the foot by refusing to open their proprietary TTS4 software to enable their customers to race in the virtual community against users of other manufacturers machines, so this greatly reduces the ambit and the possibilities of the Tacx virtual community, and for what? The phenomenal growth of CycleOps proves that Tacx no longer have the market dominance they once held, so they should release the grip they have on everyone's balls, cos its slipping anyway.I like my Tacx for all the reasons you mention, but if I am ever in the market for a new IDT, I would show zero brand loyalty. If they would allow the transmission of power of their hardware to any open source platform, or open TTS 4 somehow to all and sundry, Tacx might become attractive again. I think they should do a re-think on their strategy. And, while they are doing the re-think, it would be good if they thought again about screwing me for 70 Euros once a year for GE and Multiplayer licenses, when i have already shelled out for the whole shebang.
