  1. Awesome race, brilliant organization, magic scenery. I Will definitely be back next year. I reckon the best thing that the anc has done for the country was to have the race moved to today. Yesterday would have been rough! Edit: i just HAVE to mention the awesome pair of cycling sunnies in the race pack. Wow!
  2. Well, it must mean that your'e some kinda cycling god. Im in awe. I will be spat outta B in the stadium itself, so I definitely will start in a later group. Btw, i hope you're right about that flippin hill!
  3. Me too. Im inBL ! Whoever has done the seeding has been smoking some pretty good stuff

Thank you Gerald - that's certainly going the extra mile! As a matter of interest what time did the last official finisher do?

    Emperors Race

I'll go: 1. Getting into the venue was difficult, and took a lot of time- so i suspect a few people missed their start groups; 2. I felt uncomfortable in the large groups, which did not really break up. Suppose it cant be helped with such a flat race; 3 . Other than those 2 gripes i enjoyed the race - it was well organised and marshaled. Had lots of fun, did 3.30 from JL

    Emperors Race

Is there any way anyone can assist with a late entry which does not entail a last group start. I am willing to consider corrupt relationship, in line with government policy.

    Shyte, i forgot to register!
  10. R9 900 odd on CRC. But add your 17.5% vat and handling.
  11. Dear Attorney Vaughan Hattingh 1. welcome to the hub. 2. The central allegation made by Mr Armstrong against your client is that the latter passed off a fake dogma as an original. This is the only issue, yet you do not deny this in your response which your client has pasted on this thread. 3. Instead of dealing with the sole issue upon which your clients fate ultimately falls to be decided, you choose to obfuscate, and raise matter which is wholly superflous. 4. I invite you to supplement your response, by either admitting or denying the allegations of counterfeit. Until you do, your response, such as it is, is vague and embarrassing, and, with great respect, does your client no credit whatsoever.
  12. Yes it is flat, but you will still suffer with the distance, and will struggle to finish if 60km takes you 4 hours to complete. Why don't you consider registering for the short distance, and work your way up to to a 100km event slowly.
  13. Ya, nice business model. USD 600 on a frameset on AliExpress (free shipping) another 800 on a fake set of Boras and bar, blow zar 25k on a groupset, and unload it all for a cool 90k. Nice business if you can get it. But just wrong.
  14. I bet you this oke was riding Campy Super Record. I put it to you that you are a conjecturist after all.
  15. Puleez! If our wives read this they'd know what we spend on cycling. We are far too pussy whipped to let them near here.
  16. Did not see that, my bad. Apologies to The V. You are not a conjecturist. Still, I respectfully take issue with your stance. I put it to you, lol.
  17. The rationale for this post relies on pure conjecture. You are just sucking facts from nowhere. Where did the OP say he owned a Pinarello for 10 years? Obviously, he did research after he found out that he got ripped a new one by the supplier, which is when he discovered the risk of frame failure, which I would venture to suggest is somewhat greater than with the genuine article. Ie - he discovered this after the fact. The OP's analogy to rolex merely demonstrates that he thought that by buying a bicycle from a reputable LBS , he would be excluding the risk of being passed off with a counterfeit. There is merit in this analogy - no? Ok, so its his first post. Lets fry him for that, this being the hub and all.
  18. catty and harsh. And ludicrous. Why would you assign blame to the OP who is the victim of a fraud? Why would you seek to defend the quality of the Chinarello? Do you own one?
  19. What a horror story. Sections 41 and 51 of the Consumer Protection Act prohibit this type of conduct. In fact I think that it also constitutes Unconscionable conduct as read within the meaning of section 40. Section 56 of the CPA entitles you to return the goods for a full refund. CPA rights aside, you also have remedies under the Common Law to cancel the agreement, return the bike and to demand a full refund, based on the material misrepresentation. Some good advice is given above regarding alerting SARS, and I am sure that Pinarellos agents will vigorously enforce the brands rights of IP - but whether that will benefit you directly is doubtful. I hope you get your money back - keep us posted!
  20. Not true, Slowbee. The buyer "has the deal" only when the seller has accepted the offer in writing. In the ordinary course, The seller can simultaneously consider as many offers as he likes. Unless he has agreed not to do so.
  21. Lets hope the Epic coffee is up to scratch. Mind you, he has probably lugged one of his own machines.
  22. Bman I suggest you take a pic of the groupset, depicting the scratches. It may well be that we can carry on the lashing of Ronsha for posting internet pics with the specific intent of hiding the scratches, and then season 2 of this thread can begin. We all bought popcorn and we wanna finish it, long live hub justice, G-d help us all. Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori.
  23. The Route, many thanks Tom. Will pm you my email addy
  24. Yep, i just saw the pics
  25. Because it effectively turns the bank into a court. People get shafted every day, but its not for the bank to be the arbiter of what's fair or right. You hit the eft button, you take the hit - the exception to this is when you do an online transaction with a card, where the bank will indeed reverse where the if the does not deliver. As an aside, why this guy would come and reply with assurances, knowing he was not gonna deliver is beyond me. So, maybe he still intends to be honourable?
