  1. There are a couple of markers up there already Woofie. City Cycling Club has laid them down already. I think it just a case of remarking them to be a little more visible. I would go up there this week, but no groupset on my bike till I get my upgrade on Monday IF no-one has gotten out there by the beginning of next week, I will do it. I would think, right down past the dairy, where the little bridge is (closer to the gravel road), right up to the summit of Malans. That adds a little distance into the ride as well and there is a bit of a steep roller before the Dairy.
  2. Thats a very cool idea, I like it alot. Get to do a little warm up from the Contermans side, get down to the dairy and then TT like crazy back up! That should make for some serious climbing legs. I want to try get out there and do it at least twice per week. ALOT safer than Vissers and Tiekie.
  3. Nail on the Head here Post your details on yoru profile page Hubbers!! Come now, if you have nothing to hide, then share your information freely If you hve nothing to hide, then why not be open about it. My info is already available, has always been. Added to this, I am going to add my PPA number on my profile, take the first step, ANYONE going to follow suit
  4. I am pretty new to the "here", but I have conducted some business with a couple of Hubbers. Happy to say, all good to date. I DO look at Hubbers profiles before I will do ANY business with them though. See what the comments are like on their profile page, positive or ranting. I work D....M hard for my money and wont give it away in a heartbeat.... Just take care people, just take care!!!! If you have ANY insecure feeling, just DONT do it....
  5. NOT Ayoba!!! Come now Preston, this is a place where we (the cycling community), actually feel a bit safer in buying and selling our goods (well I for one feel safer). DONT let us down, get back to your clients and make good. if not, I truly hope that Chris C takes the correct route and gets you in a World Of Hot Water!! Good luck Chris C, Please keep us all posted.
  6. Holy Smokes!!!! Even if I had made it, there is NO way that I would have bettered my seeding anyway... That is VINNING up there, Avg over 30km/h?? WOW
  7. Now that is what I was trying to say, Spat, you just had the words
  8. What??? :"Use the Hillclimb to improve your seeding???" That's not on!!! How would something like this improve your seeding, its a little 2 km burst?
  9. City Cycling Club goes and does their Hill Time Trials over there, and a lot of the time, on a Saturday morning. Should eb interesting with a good couple of people on the road, as there is no shoulder to ride in (granted, its not a busy road). Watch out for the headwind, it does make it a tad bit nastier . Its in total about 2.3kms long, winds up, so not a dead straight ride like. I would say, something of a Chappies / the Nek cross..... Not long enough, and NO shade from the sun.... Note to self.....DONT do this in 35 degree heat again Silly to give notice so late, and it is too early anyway, some of us do have to work
  10. hmmmm. I ride the merida 907, STUNNING ride. Very comfortable. The Giant looks good though, but I am partial to the white colour. I wouldnt venture to say that one bike is superior to the other, they both have their own qualities. Comes down to one thing....... Which bike are you going to want to ride more? Which one will you wake up thinking.... "Damn, you look good, lets go out there and show you off"
  11. So I guess I will be seeing you in the start chute again That is of course if I have my New Groupset on my bike by then
  12. Berry???? Berry??? What are you thinking??? I thought we discussed this yesterday??? Are you having a change of mind??
  13. Pricing will more than likely be cheaper online, but you need to know what they will look like on. Someone suggested going into Sunglass Hut and find the glasses that suite you best, good advice. Then go buy online
  14. I am with atraut on this one. I too have both the Rudy's and Oakleys and use them at different ride times, early morning and evening rides, the Rudy, cause they will adapt to the light conditions. Long days in the saddle, I opt for my Jawbones as my eyes feel better witht he Oakley lenses. Personal preference all the way though. Go for what looks good on you and suites your riding more.
  15. Evert, Christoff and Chris Jnr...... ROCKSTARS!! Great Service from these gents in particular, although, EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER is great
  16. Agree with a lot of the comments above. CWC is sometimes a bit "steeper" in pricing (if you go into the shop itself), but do yourself a favour, get the know the guys, go in more than once every 6 months and I can guarantee you, they will bend over backwards to help you out. BRILLIANT shop, BRILLIANT service, BRILLIANT staff
  17. I will go down to my LBS and take a squizz as well. They are really reasonable. Will see if I can get you a couple of pairs and you can pay for the postage
  18. Asesome, the Grey / Silver shorts?? Where did you get them from and what make are they??
  19. Oh yes, added to that, my white socks with my white Mavic Shoes
  20. Hey hey, watch it there....:rolleyes:I have a Cervelo Test Team Kit that I like to wear (Full Black )
  21. Nice come back from yesterdays *hij-jacked* thread So whilst I am here, how about a little more discount on the CWC Kit then, just to show the :clap:A...G lovers just who we support Medium Please
  22. Just got back from the Hospital and Steve is looking STRONG as ever. Going to be a long road to recovery. Just for the record, Steve was NOT riding on MArine Drive, it was a service road off Marine Drive. It really is a nasty accident and I wish Steve all the strength in his recovery. I will be popping in and making sure that your PVM bars are stocked Steve Get well soon and we are all thinking of you. Brad
  23. Holy S%$^$&T*(. I know him personally. A family friend. No wonder I didnt hear from him over New Years. I am gonna give his wife a call now and find out if everything is OK. Steve, rest up and heal strong
  24. Move to the Cape. I took a pretty dramatic tumble at 45km/h+ going down Plattekloof Rd, hit one of those "sinkholes" in the bicycle lane. A guy literally turned around, he was travelling int he opposite direction. Picked up my bike for me, put it in the back of his little Ford Fiesta, and then proceeded to take me home (about 15km in the opposite direction to which he was travelling). Even took my bike inside for me, as I had a grade 4 seperation of the AC Ligaments! Capetonians are WAY chilled!!
