  1. Does the Vaya Work?? I have about 20 sample packs from the Argus as well
  2. Thanks, will give him a shout. Have you used him before?
  3. damn, feel your pain . WIsh there was a cure-all for them, but, not for me I suppose. I use a good lube, and after my ride, bactroban EVERY ride. Rather keep them from flaring, even though they are still tender. Good luck
  4. Hi there Hubbers, I am looking for a Custom job on my Merida Full Carbon, looking for someone in the Cape Town area that can re-spray my frame, do all the decals and a full customizing job for me. Needs to be a SUPER job, not half baked. Anyone know of someone that can give me a hand, please give me a shout. Regards
  5. Here Here to your post Gerhardc Wishing all the Hubbers and your families a blessed Christmas and may the Lord protect you and Bless you all. Here's to hoping that your stockings are filled with all the "goodies" cycling related and the things you wish for most
  6. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. My the Lord protect him and help him along to a speedy recovery.
  7. What Frame? Where is the crack? Is it on a serious weight bearing part? I might, all dependent
  8. Nah, it was all good. You guys are quite a bit stronger than myself and Big J, and the two of us did not want to hold you guys up, believe it or not, sopmeguys cant keep up with me, so I know the feeling of having to wait, its pretty frustrating . It was really awesome to put faces to names though, now when I bump into you guys at the PPA events, I will know who I am chatting to . I think it was the initial speed at going out that got myself and big J worried. Looking at your stats as well over the full distance, I think we would have been able to maintain, but we were rolling out a bit quick for us in the beginning. No worries though, I got in a nice little 2 hours yesterday and went out and did another 3 hours this morning in the same area, got to do 83km this morning, so over the weekend, I got in my 5 hours of training and that is what I was aiming for . I just gotta take the baby steps, make sure I spend some SERIOUS time in the saddle over the next 3 and a half months and I am confident I will get my 3:35 Argus
  9. WOW, the guys out there were machines , Lungs were screaming at me going out of Durbanville up the first rollers. I was definately not going to be able to maintain the pace we were going at, so after a quick chat to BigJ, decided the shorter route was going to be the better option for us Ended up doing the Durbanville High Short route plus some Km's, at a nice little pace. Going to have to get a LOT stronger to ride with the BIG boys My stats looked like this when I was done : 53.74km 01:58:53 26.27 Ave 152 Ave Heart Rate 185 Max Heart Rate (Trying to keep up going up the 1st rollers) 425m Climbing (13.63km) Next time, I WILL be stronger. BigJ, see you next week for another ride, was great riding with you. Great to meet all the HUBBERS out there, what a great bunch of guys
  10. 100% , lets stick the rules please guys. I will be there at 5:48 to set myself up . Lets try and maintain some order on the roads as well PLEASE, like NOT riding 4 abreast . Looking forward to putting faces to the names as well gents, gonna be good to meet you all. See ya in the wee hours!!
  11. Are we still sticking to the original LSD (Avg 25km/h)???? That is a 4hr and some mins ride. Dont want to bomb out and hold you guys up if it gets much higher than that...
  12. Tomorrow 6am, bright and early. Now that the Long Route is on the cards, I am NOT going to be riding over Tiekiedraai to meet, will be saddling up the car and meet you there.
  13. OK, full route it is then!!!!
  14. Lets do a split ride then? Those that want to tackle the full, go for it. For those wanting to do the 70km, also, go for it. Meet up for a coffee maybe after? Anyone have a problem with that??
  15. SUPER MARIO  , That is without a doubt, the next bike I will be riding! Back to my Italian roots, sorry Kuota KOM, you are now the second prize. That is a SUPER hot bike. Cant wait to get to the UK now and buy me 1 little Cipollini.
  16. Thanks for the SMILES, stuck in this office and the MOST stunning day outside, should be riding Malanshoogte By the way, the tube didnt hitch down to Cape Town, never saw a thing on the N1. Are you sure it got lost and didnt run away?
  17. Here Here to SirK. Why go Carbon when you can get all the same benefits as you get with a Carbon Frame. In a LOT of cases, gettingt eh right Alu frame can work out lighter than a Carbon machine. Also, lets remember this, "its not about the bike", and I can tell you another thing; SirK rides Alu, I ride Carbon and I can guarantee you, Sir K will drop my EVERY SINGLE day of the week!! Its all int he legs and fitness Good luck and do yourself a favour, go to a decent reputable bike shop, the experience will be well worth the extra couple of hundred rand
  18. Oh yes..... , tomorrow is another work day . Saturday morning it is
  19. The lady sleeps in my room. There is NO way that she would be left out in the cold. After the service she gives me, the km's she endures with me, she deserves a warm comfy place to sleep. I love my bike
  20. hup hup!! See you guys in the morning
  21. hahahahahaha, bril..... She is gonna KILL me if I spend MORE money on my bike
  22. I will go for a SRAM Red Groupset PLEASE
  23. Really? I was actually thinking about that. Maybe the hoods of my Ultegra SL are not compatible with my hands. I was actually thinking of changing to SRAM Red, the look of the hoods looks smaller to me, have been looking for a good reason to upgrade, maybe this might be it..... Might even be able to sell my wife on this idea as well
  24. Thanks Fitter. I have just slightly adjusted my nose down on my saddle, due to getting a "saddle sore" or 3 and needed to be in the saddle and alleviate that pain as well, gonna lift it a "MINUTE" amount and see if that helps tomorrow. CharlV, so you know the feeling, damn its not nice. I will DEFINITELY get back on here if I find something that works for me. It is terrible, constant numbing and I just seem to be moving my hands too much. Going to do a few little tweaks ont he set up myself first, see what helps and if I cant get it right, get a professional re-set up. Will keep you posted though (PS Ride the 907, Merida ROCKS!! ) BIG S, Lazer treatment? Crikey, yours sounds a LOT worse than mine, that is hectic! Let me know how that goes, please. FBSP, I will give the extra padding a try once I have the bike reset again, if the problem still persists, will give it a try and post some feedback. Thanks guys, really appreciate all the input
