  1. Nope. It is broadcasted live on SuperSport, DSTV. However the entrance at Hooters is R100.00, or 5.90GBP at the current exchange
  2. So who will be watching and from where? I'n not a boxing fan, actually know nothing about it!! However this I believe (hope) will be something worth watching. So far the plan is to go to Hooters Fourways and watch it there.
  3. Ouch!! Hope she can be saved! Out of interest, how far was your seatpost into the frame?
  4. She's alive!!! Still a few changes to be made in the future, but here she is! First ride coming up this Saturday at BRB.
  5. Ahhh ok awesome thanx. Will give it a go over the weekend. Does removing the skin shorten the cooking period? My idea is to do the meat in the weber and the skin in the oven.
  6. When do you splash the water on the skin?
  7. Ooooh that is definitely a skill worth learning!! My basic recipe (this is subject to personal preferences) which feeds about 8 people: Size 4 pot, low- medium heat Brown 4-5 roughly chopped onions, I like mine in slithers the length of the onion about 2cm wide. If you are using lamb chops/neck chops I prefer browning it over the open fire (braai style) and seasoned with salt and pepper, then add to the pot. Add 1 bottle of dry red wine, open a second and poor a glass for yourself. Once the pot starts simmering start stirring every half a glass of wine, or 15-20 minutes. Let 3.5hours pass with the pot simmering nicely. By this time you should be well seasoned, and not handling sharp objects anymore so it is suggested that you pre-cut the vegetables. Add the sliced potatoes (or baby potatos if you are using those), let the pot cook for another 30 minutes. If the sauce does not cover the potatoes you can add some water to cover it all. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of mezina (or whatever the spelling is) together with a packet of brown onion soup with about 300ml of water Add the balance of the veggies, mushrooms, baby marrows, patty-pans, and carrots. Cook for another 30 mins Start the rice on the stove, and add some bread dough you bought from SPAR and rolled in balls on top of the potjie (on top of the veggies). The top of the veggies should just be covered in fluid at this time. Once the rice is done so is the dumplings. PS. Once you start adding the veggies DO NOT STIR!!! I however give the pot a good stir before I add the dough.. PSS. All times above are just indications and subject to change depending on wine levels.
  8. Unfortunately no pics as proof, however we made an epic potjie on Saturday!! Lamb, ever so slightly toasted on the open fire before slowly cooking (total of 5 hours from start to finish) in a red wine sauce with some dumplings on top!! Mission for the coming weekend is a pork belly on the weber. Any advice?
  9. Use DHL. Sorts out 99.9% of all issues one can encounter when importing. As for costs, have a look at the other thread referred to. But you're most likely in for VAT (15.4% if memory serves) and a handling fee, no duties should apply on a fork/shock.
  10. Technically a no speed at the moment, but she'll be a SS within the coming days... Here she is at the moment: Couch photo will be loaded once the initial build is complete.
  11. Almost pissed myself laughing when the dancing guy went over the bars!!!
  12. Good morning all. Necro post ftw!!! Anyhow, 6 years later and here we are. Last night I try seat new tires, and for the life of me I could not get it seated with my floor pump. Rim: I have no clue what brand; Tires: Vittoria Saguaro Sealant: Stans Eventually I give up and just pop it with a co2 bomb, insta-success!! Now here's my problem, now that I have co2 running around in my brand new tire with some sealant does it render the Stans useless? I know back in the dark ages it was not suggested, but has the formula been updated and improved yet? PS. The bomb blasted the pressure to 1.6bar whereafter I inflated with the floor pump to 3.5 bar to ensure decent fit and left it to stand over night. This morning I dropped the pressure to 2.2 bar. So by my broker assumption it should be about 50/50 air vs co2. *Some more info: The valve was at about 12'O clock with the tire being upright, so no direct blasting of CO2 into the Stans
  13. That looks like a whole lot of hurt if the front wheel comes to an abrupt stop!!
  14. I am not one to resort to violence but I'll m0er someone it they did that to me!!!
  15. Sheesh!!! That is insane! Goodluck with trying to get it sorted! I found that working through DHL (more expensive shipping I know, but also quicker) the VAT is calculated a lot more accurate and a lot less BS.
  16. So sorry to hear!
  17. It's easier to remember ...
  18. Good morning guys. Riding Gauteng, places like BRB, Northerns, Buffelsdrift and Hennops, what gear ration would you suggest on a 29er? Rear tyre will be something quick (probably a 2.10), I'm looking at the Maxxis Icon, and the front will be a nice and fat tyre, probably a Specialized Ground Control or something similar (looking at a minimum of a 2.25, possibly even a 2.5)
  19. She's stunning!!! May there be many many happy days and memories!!! PS. Add babywipes (those cheap ones you get 3 packs taped together at Dischem) to every bag, car and picnic bag you own! Works like a charm to de-bulldog anything.
  20. Congrats Allrounder!!! I think I know what she looks like
  21. Banished looks quite cool. How much time is required to play?
  22. Have a good one guys. I did the first one, and thoroughly enjoyed it!! Sadly the alignment of the planets are off and I won't be doing this one. PS. Most of the carnage, IMHO is unskilled cyclist overreaching and coming short. Sadly many yearly warriors (my version of someone that only rides once a year) ride the JUMA, so be patient and have an awesome ride!!!
  23. Rolo pulling faces at me this morning when it was time to go out:
  24. I haven't seen it on the cycling scene yet but I know the (motorbike) enduro riders do use them. Normally stuffed with tyre repair cans and extra race fuel.
  25. This is the reason I am going with "X" amount of rands in cash, to buy a sandwich and a coke, and leaving the credit card at home!!
