  1. A white one? Was most likely me PS. The Momsen is an awesome bike and most likely best bang for your buck. Wish you many happy miles!
  2. I've used Glodeflight to send smaller parcels but never a bike. Also check with DHL, I'm however not sure whether they deal with once off customers.
  3. If you have a Racetec and a SAS board you should be sorted for the most part. As far as I know the Nissan Trailseeker also uses SAS boards.
  4. Yup, but I reckon it might balance out Steyn City. Damn that place!!!!
  5. One bottle of Four Cousins Red and a box of Ster Kinekor popcorn it is then!!
  6. Are kidneys accepted as fair currency?
  7. Definitely open an assault case. Also go to your nearest GP to have a J88 form completed to document your injuries. It's not as much effort as everyone thinks, open case, attend Court a few times and start teaching a few expensive lessons. If he lawyer's up in the Criminal case it will cost him north of R20k. So regardless of the outcome he would have learned some lesson...
  8. As long as the cables are not pinching or pulling tight it should not be a problem to use them as is. If you re-do the hosing yourself it is not a major expensive thing to do. Hose, olives and oil should not put you back more than about R500.00
  9. Now this I like!!! Ahhh I didn't know that. Does the BB system differ? As for the mountains, yes there are a few. But compared to the vast flats of nothingness I think the dirt roadies will find a way around it...
  10. Solution for a problem caused by the reinvention of the wheel IMO. This bike would be perfect for someone living in the Eastern Cape or Freestate where you have unlimited miles of dirt road, normally corrugated to the point where even a Cruiser start's crying! BUT, looking back at the Monstercross bikes, a nice 29" DS with 100mm travel should do the same. If you would like add roadie cranks and drops and Bob's your uncle...
  11. People have been stabbed and shot for less... We live in a brutal country where the only things that exceeds the love for another person's belongings are the lengths and violence that will be used to get said belongings.
  12. Sorry to hear about Prof. Glad you got your bikes back. My suggestion is to take the money extortion up with Command. Start by reporting it to a Station Commander at another station, then also try find out how to report it to IPID. Sadly I do not trust our SAPS, and due to this I would not be surprised if a few members are behind the syndicate. Get a few cronies to steal a bike, they hand it in to an unknown member of the public, said member phones specific SAPS member who then arranges for meeting between bike owner and the public, money changes hands and gets split between the thieves.
  13. It boils down to personal goal IMO. Everyone enters a race knowing that there will be a winner, and a possibility that they will not be that winner. So the fact that someone "specializes" in that distance and keeps on winning is not an issue for me. As with time, the youngsters will chase this winner down, and due to this the standard of the sport rises. 5 years later the "winner's" time becomes the new average. Further to the above you get people who feel that they win when they keep on winning a specific class/event, others feel that once they have beaten a specific group, they need a new challenge.
  14. Possibly a bit late. But I bought one (around 5 years ago tho), from Cajees.
  15. With cult like following Specialized enjoys, which group I like to refer to as the Spazzers, I can only see how the 2018 Camber model will be marketed on the second hand market as "Limited Edition" and sell for millions!!!! Well maybe not millions, but more than a packet of M&M's...
  16. Add cauliflower to "mangbak", smash with as much violence and all the hatred accumulated after a long day with the biggest tool you can find, things like hammer, axe etc come to mind. Once you have a lovely white moosh, moer it in the dustbin and mix 1 cup of cake flower, some yeast and a bit of lukewarm water and mix until solid. Let stand for a bit and roll flat. Add toppings....
  17. Did the first 50 odd km. Was awesome!! Looking to do the 72km this year
  18. Most likely a better question for the Braai thread, but here goes: I love cooking on the weber, recently got a pizza stone which works like a dream. However I find that on the 3rd or 4th pizza the coals die out, then in comes the braai dragon and I need to jumpstart the fire again. How does one go about keeping your fire alive and kicking whilst the lid is closed. I have the bottom and top vents completely open.
  19. Brilliant for soups and stews!! Have not used it for anything else. Not sure what functions yours has. We had one at the office last winter (nice thing about a small office) and would prepare everything in the morning, timer would kick in at 11h30 and start the cooking of the soup, lovely fresh soup for lunch at 14h00!!!
  20. Why do you say the standard sounds better if the B17 Narrow is merely 4mm wider than your sit bones? PS. Just asking from curiosity. I have a B17 Narrow on my steel SS. Awesome saddle and it currently has around 1500km's on, so still new. Saddle was comfy from day one, however it did take some tweaking to get the angle just right. Rode with an allan key and adjusted every 15 minutes until perfect. But as with a good red wine, the saddle gets better with age. From around 700km in the saddle started forming dimples, exactly where my butt bones are, now I prefer it to my couch!! Did a 30km spin the other day in normal gym shorts and not even a hint of discomfort. @DeanBean, damn that looks nice!! Love the copper rivets.
  21. Nice!! Possibly consider adding washers in the future. We have a similar setup on the farm, however it does get loaded fairly heavy, and the screws started tearing through the wood. Added some big washers and no issues from there. Long screws going into beams deep enough are insanely strong.
  22. Mine is built up as a full rigid, but from the playful feel of the bike I think it would be a monster when you add a 130mm fork!!
  23. I ride Northern Farms alone very often. Never had issues.
  24. I am 1.86m tall and ride a L HT frame. Have tried the 780mm bars and found it too wide for general use, cut down to 760mm on my new bar and I'm super happy. I reckon anywhere between 760mm and 800mm is the place to be
  25. Yup replace. Someone explained in much more detail than I remember, but in short it has to do with the compression of the materials in the helmet. It's only built to take one proper hit. My helmet looked better than that, with a dent about half the size, and even the insurance wrote it off without any debate.
