  1. no width will stay the same but do like my bar-ends. may reconsider when the bars arrive bur for now the plan is a transplant from current to the new.
  2. found this and am blown away by the Taggas on this oke.
  3. i am loving the shorter stem, the bike came with a 120mm stem which just felt odd, i am 6ft so have a large frame but it felt like i was riding over the wheel the whole time, shorter stem just feels better, cant say i have noticed much of a difference in the feel of the steering but it is more comfortable. i have however just ordered the race face bars you posted, so my mrs thanks you!!
  4. Ooh very nice, it's like bike porn, this may have been a bad thread to start as my list of I wants is growing with each post!!!! Recently changed my stem to a 60mm kcnc flyride, wish it was anodized red but black will have to do I am afraid.
  5. @swoosh sorry the image didn't load first time round. Have edited to include.
  6. Ok so I know this may be a touchy subject for some but I love new kit, even on my not so top of the line bike I want to have some bling, anodized red valve caps, QR seat-post clamp etc etc. so here goes starting a thread for those that do have some pride in what their Ike looks like, bling or not. Oh also if you just want t post about a new piece of kit go wild. My latest upgrade, continental UST mountain king 2.4 tires. Apart from the added traction cornering grip etc etc they look absolutely wicked!!!
  7. Awesome thanks that makes a lot more sense now!
  8. Hi guys I need some help understanding through Axel's please. So I would like to upgrade my fork to a fox talas 32 120 mm travel or something similar but am very confused, all the forks I have ever had have been "normal" skewer quick release types. My problem is that I see so many different diameter through Axel's from 9 to 15 to 20mm. Please can someone explain why? I mean is it not just easier to have a standard? Also if I change the fork I know I am going to have to change the hub on my front wheel so as to accommodate the through axel but which diameter would be best for the AM type riding I am doing? Like say I am just rather confused as to what the different diameter's are for. Thanks.
  9. Sorry must have missed it!!!
  10. Ok I am now going to throw my toys a little. I have just seen an advert during Carte Blanche (at about 7:35 pm) advocating cycling safely, it shows a little girl riding a bycicle with a school uniform on, assume on her way to school or home from. Now the add does, credit where it is due, make you think as it shows a paramedic pulling a "sheet" over what seems to be a body and goes on to state that this could be your mother, father, brother sister friend etc etc. What pissses me off is that despite the welcome message to be more aware of the dangers, both from a cyclist and drivers point of view, nowhere in the entire divert do they mention wearing a helmet, added to this the girl riding both in the beginning and end of the advert not wearing one!!!!! Surely they should at least have the kid wearing one!!!!! Ok sorry rant over!!!
  11. i just bought a 2012 Fox Flux from cycle lab in Fourways, paid R1080 but they are listed at R1150 i think. was looking at he giro but for more than double the price i couldn't justify the money. i must be honest it is the most comfortable helmet i have ever owned and despite fox not offering the 3 year 30% pay in guarantee that giro and bell do but cycle lab said they would give me the 30% guarantee offer so for me that was a deal closer. they do have stock as far as i am aware. i did the import exercise from chain reaction in terms of a price comparison and for the 2012 with shipping taxes etc it worked out more expensive. the 2011 version would have been 150 odd cheaper but for the time its takes to get here etc i figure i would drop the 150 bucks and have it now. this is the one i took, love the color scheme as its a bit different.
  12. your wish is granted, topic moved SB
  13. Ok so I bought an iqabi winny bike rack in December and so far have been very pleased, I know it's not. Thule but for the price it's exactly what I want from a bike rack. Saturday however I had a brain fart and managed to drive over the electric plug smashing it into a thousand pieces. So I figure no worries I will get a cheap replacement 7 pin towbar plug from Midas and fix the problem myself. Needles to say I cannot make heads or tails of the wires and am at a loss. So Sunday I get onto www.iqabi.com and ask if they can give me the wiring diagram so I can get the lights working again. To be honest I was expecting to have to find an auto electrician to help. I received a mail from Jan before the end of the day Sunday saying he will try to help. Guessed it was a BB but was non the less impressed that he could respond so quickly. This morning I get a mail from Jan stating that he wil give me a new set if light for the rack. I was expecting some kind of cost but was very pleasantly surprised when he stated that he will gladly just give me a New set no charge or questions. Am honestly blown away, firstly by the price and quality but more I think by the attitude. Well done guys awesome service will definitely recommend. Oh on that note they are now available from cycle lab fourways, last check R2800 for a 4 bike ride on rack.
  14. Fark!!! replaced and threw away my crossmark on sunday due to a 4mm cut in the sidewall. awesome tip thanks, will keep that for future reference and use..
  15. Don't know from a kit point of view but from looks alone that moonraker is like pornography, that's what I would go for purely on looks. Know that doesn't help in an way but wanted to let you know. Good luck ith the decision.
  16. thanks, any suggestions, ideas as to where i can look?
  17. hi guys i have a new merida 120 with a tapered steering fork, unfortunately the one that came with the bike is not suitable to my style of riding, i want to use my Rock shox recon fork instead, the question i have is is it possible to use the std normal fork in a tapered neck? i know there are conversion kits to use tapered forks in non tapered necks but cant find anything about doing it the other way round. thanks.
  18. hey Rich, the cycle park is cool for an afternoon or early morning skill building session, honestly not enough track to get a decent workout but very good to improve skills, a word of caution though, stick to the track suited to your skill level as you could kill yourself when out of your depth. ok that may be a bit strong but you get the gist. thats my humble 2000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 zim dollars any way. enjoy the park if you do go through.
  19. I am sure this has already been asked / posted but does anyone know where the pics from last Sunday are? Have tried for find. Am c owing up with nothing. Oh sorry I didn't order pics I mean the general pics that the photographers scattered tough out the race were taking.
  20. All mountain I would take a cube stereo without a shadow of a doubt
  21. You really are welcome. Sorry about the hijack
  22. Hehehehe that was me, you did thank me and no worries at all mate I know the pain and that *** feeling, have been there many times before.;-) glad you finished!!
  23. I am no bike mechanic and am sure to be corrected but honestly wouldn't worry unless you can see wear on the chain that may damage the cassette in any way, the only other reason I would consider changing the chain is if the chain is slipping on the cassette when riding or chainging. Other than that I wouldn't worry. I know some may disagree but thats my 2000000000000000000000000 zim dollars worth.
  24. http://www.momsenbikes.com/bikes.cfm?prod=dl629_12 slightly over your price but very very nice, better groupset than the Giant
  25. i have a RS800CX so looks as though i am all out of luck in terms of the sensor strap.
