  1. Unfortunately you will stay "weak" I trained with a weaker partner for 4 years. Didn't work for me but for him. He became stronger and I went no where. I joined a big group where I suffered in the beginning. At 48 I am doing better than at 30. I suggest you and your girlfriend join a big group where both of you will benefit and she will become stronger and you never know she might just make you say "honey wait for me"
  2. Please show me the cyclist who never ever skipped a red... the most important thing to take into consideration when you do skip is make sure NO ONE'S life is in danger.......and I am not promoting skipping.
  3. Must be a petrol thing........ If the petrol price goes up all the chain stores increase their prices with R2 - R20 per item depending what you are buying....crazeee
  4. Vat hom Flaffie........
  5. Use diesel ,a paint brush and a few rags...been doing it for the past 31 years...works like a charm....stay away from water..I know it rains sometime when you out cycling but try and prevent unnecessary water on the moving parts...
  6. If you look at his photo it explains everything....................
  7. Vat so katvis...............................
  8. Sterkte aan almal wat more gaan ry. Dit is 'n roete wat nie jou maatjie is as dit koud en winderig is nie.
  9. Hartseer om te sê maar my fiets staan al vir twee maande in die garage. Sommer net slegtigheid. Sodra die skooleksamens verby is sal ek weer die pad vat...............
  10. Enjoy the quiet time. Nex week the rush is back
  11. Going from "fake Pino's" to Coke and Rolex...............Looks like this is going to become a looooooooooooong thread.
  12. I dont think any one says its ok to steal , I think it boils down to a 50k Pina being sold for 120k The opportunity for the majority of cyclist to own a Pina is taken away by the massive mark ups.
  13. What ever the case might be....I would love to ride a Pinarello but even the "generic" one is out my price range.....and no I wont buy something off the back of a truck. Not ayoba.....
  14. It is not a case of stealing or something being generic. If I produce a product for R10.00 and sell it to a retailer for R25.00 is fair for the retailer to then sell it at R100.00? As long as everything is legit I will buy at the best price. Also bare in mind that China's factory workers are very poorly paid(cheap labour)The production cost of a frame and the selling prices of the frame doesn't ad up but then so are all other products on the market.
  15. Long and short of the story...China officially build carbon frames for Pinarello and other brands........only difference is the price who is determined by the retailer.I bought a Schwinn fast Back Pro in December 2003 (Top of the range at that stage) made in Taiwan ,official frame builder for Schwinn. Had the bike now for 9 years. Had no problems. Why pay 50k if you can get the exact same thing for 20k?????
  16. Unfortunately will have to skip this year
  17. Nice to see there are still people with unlimited budget when it comes to cycling , very fortunate or should I rather say blessed. Personally I would go for Pinarello. Colnago and Bianchi are also fantastic bikes. Regarding your lower back injury, the best way to accommodate this is to go to a decent bicycle shop to determine the correct frame size and then I would further suggest you go to SBR Sport in Sunninghill Village (011 024 2969) for a bike set up(Cycle lab Fourways is also good with set up) What ever you are going to buy.....ENJOY
  18. Didn't go riding this morning BUT my bike will take me to Umdloti tomorrow late afternoon. Will be going to Umdloti for a week. Looking forward cycling along the coast line.
  19. What would Lance use to recover? .....................
  20. A catch 22 situation
  21. Very sad that Lance did what he did. I have always maintained that you cannot cycle average 200km a day for 23 days at a 43ave and only use your day to day performance products. You certainly need much "stronger? products to get you to the finish. The majority is using "banned" products. It is the way you use these substances that will determine if you get caught or not. The way that Mr Armstrong administered his dope was brilliant but at the end of the day it catches up with you. Sad day for cycling. Its not all about me or the bike but the dope............................
