Just want to extend my elation of an experience with a proper local bike shop! FINALLY! After being let down my LBS who after I spend about R8k in the last 3 months with them told me they can get to my bike around the 24th of March for a quick spoke replacement - I decided to shop around. Thank goodness the first place I tried was Anton at Summit Cycles! What a pleasure - not only was he extremely pleasant, but exceptionally helpful. A quick replacement and the spoke was done within the morning. But to go further, the atmosphere is the shop was efficient and friendly (even got offered coffee! . Further - dropped off my bike for some work before Sani - told it would be ready on Tuesday afternoon. Received a call this afternoon, which made my heart sink - cause the only other time I received a call from the bike shop was with delays or expensive bad news - However my bike was ready and fully serviced. You guys have won a loyal customer - and I will make sure I send as many people as I can your way! This is what a local bike shop is all about!

Like them a lot! No complaints, serviceable too!

I know nance I did shed a tear or ten. I am really at the point of trading my bike in after the Epic and taking up swimming! Did not ride my bike on the Legend advice - seemed like it was the right thing to do. So I will be back on the saddle!

I have just noticed that one of my spokes on my DT Swiss Rims is broken. Can you ride a mtb with a broken spoke - noting hectic just the regular district road etc. Cheers Roons

My current grips are Specialized Thin Lock-On Grip, dual density. By and large I am happy with them. The bike is just over a year old and they have worn thin and now offer no padding. I just wanted to get the consensus on what everyone else was using. Thanks for the comments so far - will weigh up my options!

I am looking at getting a new set of grips - mine are looking a bit worse for wear! What would you recommend for stage type riding (read long!) mtb grips? Want something super comfy yet durable... Thanks Roons

Does anyone have a garmin tracklog of the route from Fourways to Harties? If not the tracklog then the rough route? I know how to get out to Lanseria from Northern Farms - but from there I am a bit lost. I do not want to ride on the tar (or as little as possible) Any advice will be appreciated.
